Low-down on Ladakh

Image
Simonlover made an appointment to meet KH and I for afternoon tea. He was in our neck of the woods attending a wedding a luncheon. KH suggested to meet at February 8 Cafe , a vegetarian joint at Happy Garden. When I entered, I was greeted by a peculiar sight. A lady was holding a dowsing rod above a cup tea, and she was counting the number of rotations it made. With her other hand, she was filming the 'phenomenon'. Any idea what she was doing? The cafe is quiet with nice character. A very wooden Muji feel. The menu at February 8 is pretty small, but interesting. I ordered the Hojicha Soy Milk and it was good. KH gave Simonlover the lowdown on his Ladakh trip. At around 5 PM, we quit the cafe and went to the night market that had suddenly sprouted at the doorstep. Don't remember the last time I went to one. Plenty of food options, but not exactly cheap. Saw a heap of courier packages on the ground being sold for RM7 each. It was a kind of fukubukuro , or egg surpri

Lusty After Ladakh

Tokio Marine had finally approved my claims for the steering coupling and wheel bearing replacements. And the spare parts had arrived at the service center. Took a day off on Friday to get it settled. Didn't wait there, but went home instead. Not long after breakfast, I received a visit from KH. He had arrived that morning from New Delhi. His 2-week retreat to Ladakh had left him refreshed and horny ( which is a good thing, as I was definitely dry as heck ). Our passionate reunion started on the sofa then switched to higher gears in my bedroom. Been too long since our last skank. Got me moaning like crazy. He couldn't hold it in anymore and came before I did. At the end of the session, KH was so tired that he napped for a while. I woke him up for brunch. Asked him what he wanted and he told me that he was craving for Chinese food. Shared a bowl of pork ball hor fun noodles at Restoran Yoong Sheng , and went for a second round at Restoran Xin Tian Di . He decided on CKT.

Cut Hair & Corpus Christi

Early on Sunday morning, mum went off with the tribe for a durian excursion at some remote orchard. I slept in, then went for some comfort food at Restoran Yoong Sheng . Love their pork ball noodles. Whiled the morning away working on my Holy Land photobook. If KH was around, the plan would have been sex, sex, and sex! At noon, I went to get my haircut. My stylist had closed his branch at Citrus Park, so from now on I will be going to Gembira Avenue. Settled lunch right at the salon as well. They have an interesting combination of a salon and a cafe. I wasn't particularly hungry, so the oven-baked cheesy toast with egg, and special iced coffee was a satisfying light lunch. Not long after mum arrived home, we went to church for the Corpus Christi procession. The route was approximately 2 kilometers and brought us through the Taman Mayang residential area. The traffic police were called in for security purposes. The Host was displayed in a monstrance and traveled in a decor

Happy Father's Day

Image
On Father's Day, mum and I went lepak-ing at Paradigm Mall. Had a simple meal of chicken hor fun at Nam Heong . Was a bit flabbergasted that their tiny chicken sou actually costs RM3.80. Spiderman was roaming around the mall as part of some cosplay thing, but it wasn't Eric Lau Lofstedt . Stopped by at Starbucks to use my comp drink. Used it for a seasonal drink ( maximum value! )~ dark caramel frap with coffee sphere. Starbucks' answer to Koi's golden bubble. Truth be told, it was good. Not sickly sweet at all. And the coffee spheres were delicious. I actually finished that whole drink. Well, the drink was great, and so was the view. Starbucks Shin was sitting opposite me the whole time. Such a cutie. Perfect for those who like a good matcha latte. SK jio-ed us for dinner at Yuen Yuen , Taman Kinrara but I told her to avoid Chinese restaurants like the plague. Never a good idea to venture to such places during Father's Day. We ate at Day 9 Kitchen

Hospital, Clinic, Then Party

Piles is quite a common problem these days. I went to see a doctor about it a few years back and medication seems that have controlled the situation. Recently, mum starting complaining about it. The pain made her really irritable. The GP didn't do much for her situation. The suppositories were expensive, yet useless. Before the problem got worse, I made an appointment with a specialist at Sunway Medical Center. At 8AM, we were the first in line. The good doctor arrived 2 hours later. He did a quick scope to assess the situation and gave mum some options. We went off with two boxes of Daflon. Coincidentally, mum also had a quarterly follow-up with the gynaecologist, so I drove to Bandar Puteri Puchong. Just a very short visit. Finally we could have breakfast. Tried YOU Fishball Noodles, a shop specializing in well, fishball noodles. The soup was piping hot, truly a breakfast that warms the belly. Simple but satisfying. In the afternoon, mum went out to her society meeting

6th Sense

Image
KH organized a birthday lunch for Apollo and Andy at 6 Senses Gastrobar . It was a good opportunity to get everyone together. Timing was a tad difficult, as SK had just flew in from Istanbul that morning. 6 Senses is located in Taman Perindustrian Pusat Bandar Puchong, an area that I had not ventured to before. For some reason, most of the light industrial lots along that road were snapped up by bars, cafes, and restaurants. 6 Senses has a nice ambience and some of their food is pretty good. I recommend the Dip in Funghi and Pork Chop. The dip is actually a cream of mushroom soup topped with egg, and served with toast. Its served in a hot stone bowl, making it extra yummy. And it's unheard of for a place to serve set lunches on a weekend, so it's quite a steal. During the lunch, SK let us try some premium Turkish Delights~ multi-hued sticks imbued with multiple flavours. My favourite is the rose petals. Mei came came late because she drove straight up from Batu

Raya II : SahabatSkandal

On Raya Kedua, mum and I spent the day at IOI City Mall. She couldn't decide on what to eat, so I just chose white curry noodles at Teochew Chendul . From my FB post, Cutiepie discovered that I was at the mall. She buzzed me for a meet-up, and was there in 30 minutes with her eldest in tow. We had a little chit-chat at Original Banana Leaf accompanied by chapati , puri , and chicken varuval . When the puri came, Cutiepie's eldest did the honours of whacking it flat. Many retail stores weren't open for business, but we still managed to do some shopping. Cutiepie's eldest was running all over, hiding in clothes racks and trying on heels. At the end of of our outing, I introduced Cutiepie to the Family Mart sofuto culture. Hokkaido melon ain't one of their better flavours. Too artificial. Stick with hojicha . Trust me on that. KH joined mum and I for dinner that night. Spotted a hidden restaurant called Ker Jia Zhuang at Equine Park. If you're fami
