Hope

Image
Signed a tenancy agreement with a Nigerian woman who entered Malaysia with a student visa. Her name is Hope. As much as I hope that she's not a troublesome tenant, the day she moved in, she already caused me to spout fire. This tenant was introduced by an agent who happens to be my BIL's friend, so I didn't intervene. All arrangements were made through the agent. One day, I received a call from my management office: MO: Hi, your tenant is at the main entrance with her moving truck. But we can't let her in because she does not have a tenancy agreement. Moi: (of course she bloody doesn't have the tenancy agreement because I haven't signed it!) The agent was not contactable, so I called my BIL. He told me that the agent was supposed to settle it, and that I should ignore the whole debacle. Ignore? Wow. That really floored me. In the end, the management office allowed her to move in with an e-mail approval from me. To me, the agent was problematic for not answering

KH Turns 40

Image
The second Wednesday of March was KH's 40th birthday. I took a day off to spend time with him on his special day. Started the day off with some fooling around at home. He was turned on by my choice of a STUD jockstrap. Turning 40 didn't dampen his libido as well. After that rare jockstrap sex session, we went to Aurora Place to collect my multi-focals. Handed over my spectacles to the optician and waited for him to switch the lenses. Fifteen minutes later, he came out with bad news. He had cut the lenses, and fitted the left lens. While trying to complete the job, the right side cracked! Ack. He scrambled to find a similar frame and thank goodness that the first pair he picked out was a perfect fit, and I actually liked the design. Phew! The frame was complimentary. By the time everything was settled, it was already time for late lunch.  My hubby is a big Penang Char Kway Teow junkie, so didn't mind going somewhere far for a good plate of it. We drove all the way to Sungai

Just-In-Time For CNY

Image
The whole Lunar Chinese New Year went by without us visiting malls to admire the seasonal decorations. Although times are bad, the malls didn't crimp on their budget. Best thing was, they weren't in a hurry to take down the decorations. Maybe a way to attract more customers. One Utama did an exceptional job setting up a Forbidden City meets hanami scene. It was very photogenic, and I was surprised that many of the visitors engaged in the traditional activities that were prepared-- Chinese chess, jianzi , and pitch-pot .  A few hours walking around One Utama, and my legs were spent. Need to get my 'shopping mall legs' back. Also noticed that One Utama has a new mini extension near One World Hotel.  In the evening, went over to MaisonSK 2.0 for a dinner party. Apollo joined us for a dinner with steamed crabs, Cordyceps flower soup, and stewed pork tendon. SK took the chance to show-off her handy work having installed DIY vinyl flooring strips in her study room. The end r

Simon Does Korean Again

Image
SimonLover organized Korean dinner with e10, and Khatijah. He also brought a new friend, Alan. The dinner venue was Kimchitiam at Faber Towers. For some reason, we always have Korean. Mungkin pasal Simon likes to watch Korean dramas. The restaurant was new to all of us. It had an uncommon banchan counter concept. For every main, you get an unlimited refill of one variety of side dish. Don't know how they keep track actually. It's quite silly. With the new dining SOP, I just piled all the food in one bowl-- banchan + bulgogi + kimchi pork + squid + kimchi stew + miso stew. Anyway, the food's pretty mediocre. Some of us were still hungry. Alan wanted to order more, but I stopped him. Might as well go elsewhere.  Thought to have coffee at LDG, but we were shocked by price tag on their cakes-- MYR20 a slice! Didn't mind going a bit further. Ended up at Zus Coffee a few minutes drive away. A spanking new place with a B1F1 offer for new users of their mobile app. Perfect.

Overdue Trim

I cut my hair on the last day of February. The 17th day of the lunar calendar. Yes, I went through CNY with an unkempt bush! My hairstylist reminded me to come more often if I want to see him stay in business! Got it! In the evening, my sister organized a please-help-me-clear-the-glut-of-frozen-food-in-my-freezer party. Recruited SK, and KH, to help with the grill and the steamboat. In the end, there was still a lot left over. We weren't ravenous enough. Probably need a few more parties.

Read After Me

Image
Age has caught up with me. Ever since my 39th birthday, my vision had been deteriorating. I had begun to notice how annoyingly high the screen resolution of colleagues' laptops were. The lines of code were so cramped and tiny that I had stick my head to the screen, and look over my spectacles! Aiyoh , like uncle jor . Suffered for a year. Guess the least straw was when I couldn't read the bill at Pepo Pizza . The small text and the ambient light really gave me a hard time. A week later, I dropped by an optical shop at Aurora Place and got my eyes checked. During the eye test, my hair kept getting in my eyes, so I definitely had to arrange a visit to my hairstylist too. The results: Near sightedness increased 50 in both eyes. Astigmatism was reduced by 50 in one eye, so its all balanced now. Reading power is 125! With this, I had upgraded to multifocals ( some call them progressives ), something that allows me to see near, intermediate, and far. Unlike single power lenses, I was

Before CNY Ends

CNY was an excuse to meet up and have good food, and drink. Danny organized lunch at his favourite restaurant, Seafood Legend ( formerly-known as F1 Kitchen ). KH and I just brought our stomach capacity, while Ivan brought a bottle of Yamazaki whisky and Qinghua Fenjiu baijiu . The get-together was also a chance to celebrate his life planner qualification to Court of the Table. We toasted to Danny's continued step up in his career. Ivan had a recent upgrade too-- fatherhood, and it showed on his face. Haha. The food was amazing, and the chilled Yamazaki was really smooth.   It was a late lunch, so by the time I got home, it was already 4-ish. Together with mum, we went to our next appointment-- a CNY visit to Apollo's house. Although we couldn't have our usual CNY lunch, a quick visit was a good substitute. Every time we go to Apollo's house, his garden seems to get bigger and bigger! Since we were in Petaling Jaya, KH suggested that we try Pepo Pizza . The place is hi

Delivering Love

Before the pandemic, my church gave out red packets to parishioners who attended the CNY mass. At the end of mass, everyone would get two Mandarin oranges, a bible verse, and MYR2. The pandemic dashed those usual plans, but my church still went ahead with the preparation of red packets. A whole bunch were distributed to BEC leaders for internal distribution. This year, the red packet was extra large because instead of money, it contained a CNY-themed surgical mask! I was part of the team, so I distributed to families in Puncak Jalil and Bukit Serdang. It was a great chance to catch up with each other after a long absence. Became a mini CNY visitation of sorts. Haha. Talked so much that I was a bit late for my romantic dinner with KH!  Rushed home to shower and change, then zoomed over to Sri Petaling for dinner. My bad for being ten minutes late to our belated Valentine's Day and 14th Anniversary dinner at  Passione Ristorante Italiano . Before it became an Italian restaurant, it w
