Pre-CNY Event 2022

Image
Looky what I found at the OUG morning market multi-level car park! Someone must have been doing some other kind of parking there! Good choice in ONE condoms, but guess it wasn't a long session judging from the leftovers. After our marketing session, mum and I went to help out at an event at Theatre Impian, Aurora Place. It was a pre-CNY event to distribute goodie bags and calendars single mothers at the Seputeh area. Must say that the location is a but problematic. Many had trouble finding it. Basically I was there as a general worker. Plenty to do-- hauling up the goodie bags, decorating the venue, arranging tables and chairs, preparing the food utensils, and taking photographs.  YB Teresa Kok was a little late, so the emcee had to drag the ice breaker for quite some time. She was pretty good at stalling. After the event, the attendees were given a guided tour of Saudara Lim Kit Siang's visual art biography exhibition. Mum and I stayed back to clean up, then we headed home af

Ucapan Snail Mail

Image
Really have to give it to Janvier for keeping the tradition of snail mail greetings alive. Without fail, I have been getting cards from Regia in my mail box twice a year. Once at Christmas, and once at Chinese New Year. Over the years, Janvier had honed his calligraphy skills, and in recent years, he has substituted commercial greeting cards for handmade cards. Just look at that creative tiger design!  I used to send out physical greeting cards for some friends, relatives, and old neighbours, but I eventually got very lazy. I really should at least respond to Janvier's well wishes with a card of my own. My bad! Hopefully Christmas 2022!!!

Tater in Town: Reunion

Image
Tater was back in town, so KH and I headed out to the city center to welcome him. We worked from Wu Di Cafe  while waiting for our Singaporean VIP to arrive. While waiting for dinner time, we did some catching up over coffee. On our way out, we noticed a bunting advertizing a local BL web series called "Wu Di In Love" . If you haven't guessed, the series revolves around the cafe, and I've seen the MC ( guy with the strong eyebrows and jawlines ) hanging out at the cafe. Perhaps he's the owner.  Dinner reservations was at  8Haus Cafe . Been wanting to try the food there since the last visit to the area. Chose two varieties of roulade and some truffle pork. Then it was time for some booze at Sin Chew Kee Cold Drinks Store . Definitely worth toasting to our log awaited reunion. Hope to see more of him in KL when his regular schedule is confirmed.   P.S.: Tater gave us belated Christmas gifts. Super skimpy and sexy. Which do you think would suit me, and which would

Energy Date

Image
In October, Cutiepie gave me a gift certificate from Energy Spa for my birthday. Procrastinated utilizing the gift certificate until the very last minute. Always thought I had more time. By the time I made an appointment, I had only a few days left before the expiry date. Booked a couple's room, and enjoyed a wonderful 2-hour massage with KH at Energy Spa ( didn't stay longer to enjoy the highway construction view at the lounge ). As usual, KH planned the whole day around it ( although he habitually claims that its stressful :P )-- lunch at Cata , tea time at Kenny Hills Bakers , and dinner at Cafe Chef Wan .  Food at Cata was generally good, but the mishandling of our reservation left a bad aftertaste in my mouth, kinda like their patatas bravas. "Your reservation is wrong, you can't use the Eatigo discount.". "Sit here.". "No, please sit here.". In the end they gave us the discount anyway. Zzz. Anyway, the iberico ribs were yummy!  The experi

Boosted

Mum received her vaccination booster appointment via MySejahtera in January. I fetched her to the center at Dewan Bankuet, Universiti Putra Malaysia. The banquet hall is part of the Faculty of Science and Food Technology's food services division. They even have a cafe there but the students seem more focused at cleaning a cafe, rather than other operational aspects. The vaccination went slowly, and mum came out triple AZ-ed. On the other hand, my vaccination appointment was handled by KH. He managed to get me a Pfizer jab at a clinic at Taman Desa. In and out of the clinic in less than half an hour. The doctor even asked me if I had any other friends who wanted a booster shot. Guess the uptake wasn't that good, and the stock was expiring. Both mum and I didn't have any side effects.
