SimonLover's Full Moon Party

Image
Once again, SimonLover hosted a dinner party at his place. A Mid-Autumn gathering, but without mooncakes. Ever the gracious host, he prepared most of the food! On the table was chicken rice, salad, curry pork, stuffed tofupok , and charsiew . The salad he made himself, the rest he got from Restoran Kong Sai , and TnR . I supplied a roast duck from OUG, and TummyFull brought wine. Among the guests for the night were JJ, Ban, Khatijah, ForIHaveSinned, and TummyFull. Towards the end of the night, SimonLover's housemate e10 also made an appearance. At the start, SimonLover seemed so stressed out with all the preparations. Gradually, he relaxed and we helped him the best we could. It was a great party, and everyone had fun.

Small Scrimmage

Khatijah and I went to yumcha in Taman Desa for an underwear pick up. He suggested a Thai cafe there called Mamamon. I arrived earlier than him, so I went in first, looked at the menu, sipped some water, and even used the restroom. When Khatijah came, he took one look at the menu and jio-ed me to leave. Lol. Not many choices were available, so we just sat down at Pappa Rich . Khatijah, SimonLover, and I had grouped our orders to take advantage of a bulk purchase discount at the CIN2 website. Got myself a pair of green Scrimmage jockstraps, while I chose an Oxide brief for KH. Unfortunately, the jockstrap didn't fit me. The S from this range is too small for me. Could practically hear the stitching give way! OMG, I'm so fat! :P. P.S. : The jockstrap has now found a new home with JJ. Ban was definitely delighted.

Perfect Ten : A Cause For Celebration

Image
I was very flattered when JJ and Ban invited KH and I for their tenth anniversary celebration. Why you may ask ? All came from a random suggestion from KH and I that JJ and Ban might be right for each other. And coincidentally, they clicked after we suggested that JJ get a piece of rose quartz to enhance his love luck. Till today, JJ still carries around a red pouch that contains that cherished crystal mystical knot. He showed it to me over dinner at Kinpachi , SS17. The lovely couple paid for my Kinpachi Bento, which contained a little of everything. A good place to start since I had never dined there before. With only the three of us ( KH tak dapat join ), we didn't go for round two. Sincerely wish that they will continue to pour love and effort to keep their relationship strong. Please invite is to the next milestone celebration ( tapi kalau dah tua kerepot kenot go Kinpachi cause have to climb the stairs( )!

Vortex Visit

Image
Suddenly Singapore. That's the only way I can describe my day ( work ) trip to Singapore. Management suddenly wanted someone to standby in case there were questions about our cloud architecture. At T1 arrival hall, I had the opportunity to take a quick look at Jewel, and it's famous Rain Vortex, the artificial giant toilet in perpetual flush. Hehe. We arrived in the city a little before lunch, with enough time the for a quick bite. I chose the lei cha at Lau Pa Sat ( forgot to bring my Kopitiam card ). Unfortunately, the kopi quality had sunk very low. The presentation was at an office building nearby. Very modern with a cafe-like eating area for their staff. The whole meeting went without a hitch, and I didn't even really need to open my mouth. Money well-spent. With no work engagements left, I left for the airport really early to meet Tater. He looked great and refreshed. He treated me to a vanilla fig latte and a banana chocolate cake at Starbucks. It was gr

Jelajah Cikgu J

Image
Cikgu J and King were in KL, spreading kesucian Ipoh in the Klang Valley. Arranged a meet up with them at Eko Cheras Mall. When they arrived, they were all flustered and sweaty, with another friend in tow, Tango. Tango is your typical pocket gay, with a huge archive of skanky stories to tell. Our initial bitching and gossiping session was Taste by Champignons . KH ordered hot chicken soup for me ( was feeling a weak, but thankfully recovered ), and pork chop for himself. Wasn't impressed with the stuff there. We did some window shopping in the mall to burn some time. When it was time for dinner, we had noodles at Ah Koong Restaurant , a place famous for its fishballs. Most shocking was the fact that we could camwhore so much at a fishball restaurant. They truly are Ipoh's creme de la crème. Cikgu J and gang rushed off to the ETS after dinner, while KH and I stayed back for a bit to paktor at Muyoo , a bakery specializing in oversized, fluffy, pillow-like buns. Can'

Birthday Bulan

Image
Mid-autumn madness lasted till September with a party at Rimbayu with SK's ex-colleagues and friends. During our drive there, saw a car turned turtle right in the middle of the road. Wonder how that happened. In addition to celebrating the mooncake festival, it was a birthday party for one of the guests. The usual birthday cake was replaced with a platter of various mooncakes. The potluck was pretty good with grilled pork ribs, kam heong prawns, KFC, pizza, otak-otak, fruits, red wine, and barley drink. Once we had our fill, some of the kids went out to play with lanterns, and light candles. The haze was bad, so we didn't stay out long. On our way home, we still stopped for sofuto at Family Mart!

Merdeka With Mei

Image
The morning market was a little quiet during the long Merdeka weekend. Mooncakes had invaded the place, taking over durian. Not long after I arrived, I received a text from Mei asking if I was at the OUG Morning Market. She had Princess J in tow, and we had breakfast together at Niu Niu Kulai Beef Noodles . Princess J was in a good mood because Mei had bought her Elsa and Sofia the First stickers. We ate pan mee from a stall in front of the shop. Both of us opted for the torn variety which was very smooth, nearly as good as Taman Naga Emas. The little girl opted for a bowl of beef balls. Mei revealed the reason that Princess J agreed to an excursion to the morning market-- to go to her favourite herbal tea shop! She had already started to complain that she was too tired to walk. Every time she whined, we would tell her that Kang Won Herbal Tea was just a few steps away. Every week, I pass by that shop without giving it much notice. It was my first time there. The interior is ver

Lifebook La Risata

Image
Celebrated Lifebook's birthday at La Risata , Medan Damansara. KH fetched me from KLCC Convention Center after my duty at the career fair. Slim pickings. The sole decent candidate that I wanted to hire eventually rejected the offer. At dinner, we shared a few mains and wrapped dinner up with a slice of tiramisu and a molten chocolate cake ( the chocolate sphere was too thick, so it took ages to melt ). The birthday boy left right after dinner ( he said he was tired, or perhaps a cover story for birthday sex! ), but the rest of us continued to the second round at Kind Kones , Plaza Damansara. A nice place for vegan ice cream, but the venue was freezing cold, and offered no restroom access to customers. Shooh, shooh, shooh!

Palm Oil Physical

Through her connections, mum signed us ( including the Monsters and a couple of their friends ) for the Merdeka Fun Run for Sayangi Sawitku that was slotted a week before Merdeka. The run was jointly organized by Taman Desa Resident's Association (TDRA) and Majlis Perwakilan Penduduk Zon Wilayah Persekutuan (MPPWP). The meeting point was at the Taman Desa community hall where we did some warm up yoga. YB Teresa Kok flagged us off at 7:30 AM. The kids ran at first, waving their mini flags enthusiastically, then lost their steam. Little Monster lagged behind a bit and looked so red in the face. We reached the finish line at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Desa (SMKTD) at about an hour later. Collected the goodie bag, then headed to the hall for breakfast. The kids had instant chee cheong fun , and we also tried some African food provided by the Ghana High Commission of Malaysia. All of the activities were lined up by the Malaysia Palm Oil Council (MPOC) to promote and educa

Saturday at Suria : Faux Pas-rking

Image
When it comes to shopping with mum, Suria KLCC is usually at the bottom of the list. But when one is looking for a fresh experience, it's a good place to revisit. Good thing that Suria KLCC has Isetan, Isetan Food Market, and Zara, places that mum can shop at. Our lunch was at La Cucur . Shared a packet of nasi dagang Terengganu and their heavenly hot teh tarik . We dunked a giant palmier from Marks and Spencer in the tea. Chatted up and old Malay couple who sat beside us. Told us about their grandchildren. One is into e-Sports and the other in e-Commerce. How times have changed. Robinsons was next on my list. Like their sister store in Singapore, the stuff there is too expensive. Could only see rich Indonesian Chinese spending their money there. When it was tea time, we headed to Malaysia Boleh! for kopi . I spied a group of people having curry noddles. Couldn't resist, and ordered myself a bowl! The kopi we dunked with a giant white chocolate cookie from Marks and Sp
