Sixteen years together is no easy feat. Although KH and I had already spent so many years together, we can still say silly things to each other. Poke fun at each other about subjects that have origins from when we started dating. Our inside jokes. Does it mean that we have not progressed? I would like to think that we still maintain the same innocent love that we have for each other. To mark the occasion, we had a wonderful lunch at Entier French Dining located in Alila Bangsar. We had a table with a view, and the natural light really makes the food porn photos pop. A memorable dining experience complete with anniversary cake compliments of the restaurant.  Mei and MiniMei were in town, so we took the opportunity to catch up with them at Chye Seng Foo Coffee in Cheras. Perhaps MiniMei was exhausted from all the social events that her momma dragged her too, so she was a bit sulky. Nothing a little bacon fries couldn't solve. With Mei, she updated us on her situationship and life b...

Fifteen years had passed since KH and I got together. Once again, he organized a wonderful celebration, although he admits that it stresses him out. Am I so hard to please? Little ol' me?? To placate him, I told him that I would take over next year. Hopefully he'd forget. XD. The celebration began at home with some hot and heavy action. The proper way would be to have a round for each year we were together, but ..... Haha.  KH made lunch reservations at Hanaya , a Japanese restaurant in Grand Milennium Hotel, Bukit Bintang. When making the reservation, he told them that it was for an anniversary. Not sure if KH was expecting a table with scattered rose petals and a violinist, but all we got was a small vase of artificial flowers. XD. At least the food was good, and reasonably priced.  Moving on, we visited LaLaport BBCC, which was built on the historical Pudu Jail. All that's left is the main gate. As expected, LaLaport was a shopping mall with a whole lot of boarded up lot...

Delivering Love

Image
Before the pandemic, my church gave out red packets to parishioners who attended the CNY mass. At the end of mass, everyone would get two Mandarin oranges, a bible verse, and MYR2. The pandemic dashed those usual plans, but my church still went ahead with the preparation of red packets. A whole bunch were distributed to BEC leaders for internal distribution. This year, the red packet was extra large because instead of money, it contained a CNY-themed surgical mask! I was part of the team, so I distributed to families in Puncak Jalil and Bukit Serdang. It was a great chance to catch up with each other after a long absence. Became a mini CNY visitation of sorts. Haha. Talked so much that I was a bit late for my romantic dinner with KH!  Rushed home to shower and change, then zoomed over to Sri Petaling for dinner. My bad for being ten minutes late to our belated Valentine's Day and 14th Anniversary dinner at  Passione Ristorante Italiano . Before it became an Italian restaurant,...

Lucky Number 13

Image
KH and I had been together for 13 years. So many things had happened in between that I would definitely have many "Oh yeah!" moments if I reread my old blog posts. Recently, KH was spring cleaning his external hard drive that he came across love notes and messages that I used to send to KH while he was working in Singapore. Completely forgot about those. To mark our 13 years together, KH arranged a nice dinner in the heart of KL. FOOK is a contemporary Asian fusion restaurant located along Jalan Sultan Ismail, right before the now defunct Wisma KFC. We were actually earlier than valet attendant. Left the car out front, and climbed the long flight of stairs up to the restaurant which squats atop a small wooded hill. The bar area is large, with the counter dominated by large red lanterns. The dining area is mainly composed of wood and glass themes, and lots of paintings. The waitress showed us to our table which was located in one of the semi-private niches overlooking Jalan ...

Perfect Ten : A Cause For Celebration

Image
I was very flattered when JJ and Ban invited KH and I for their tenth anniversary celebration. Why you may ask ? All came from a random suggestion from KH and I that JJ and Ban might be right for each other. And coincidentally, they clicked after we suggested that JJ get a piece of rose quartz to enhance his love luck. Till today, JJ still carries around a red pouch that contains that cherished crystal mystical knot. He showed it to me over dinner at Kinpachi , SS17. The lovely couple paid for my Kinpachi Bento, which contained a little of everything. A good place to start since I had never dined there before. With only the three of us ( KH tak dapat join ), we didn't go for round two. Sincerely wish that they will continue to pour love and effort to keep their relationship strong. Please invite is to the next milestone celebration ( tapi kalau dah tua kerepot kenot go Kinpachi cause have to climb the stairs( )!

A Dozen Teh Tariks

12th anniversary. Mamak. Guess where next year. :P

Undicesimo Anniversario

Eleven years together with KH, doesn't feel like it. Been through so much together, and for sure there's more ahead of us. In a relationship, there's no real destination, it's a journey undertaken together. We marked the occasion with an Italian omakase dinner at Butler & Chef , Solaris Dutamas. The restaurant is located right beside Red Bean Bag ( I wonder if people still queue to eat here ). Besides us, there was only one other table occupied on that Saturday night. Both of us ordered the 7-course dinner which would have cost a pretty penny if not for the TableApp promotion. Here's what we had: Caprese salad. Beetroot bisque. Pan-fried salmon. Grilled giant river prawn. Grilled lamb with nai pak  ( an uncommon pairing ). Seafood spaghetti marinara ( a mountainous serving of pasta! ). Panna cotta. By the end of the meal, we nearly couldn't get out of our seats. Since we were the only customers left, Chef Mino, the owner and chef came out to...

Tin Men

Image
The 10-year wedding anniversary is traditionally called the tin or aluminum anniversary. On the modern list, it is referred to as the diamond jewelry anniversary. Either way, it is the "first of the major milestone anniversaries," according to About.com. Yes, happy tin anniversary to KH and I! Tin. Aluminium. Lol. Can't believe it has been ten years already. Here's a quick summary: Started in 2007. LDR till 2012. Nearly got married in Vancouver in 2014. 10th anniversary in 2017. To celebrate our ten years together, KH arranged made dinner reservations at  Fuego, Troika Sky Dining . When we met, he was lugging a Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine that his colleagues bought him as a farewell gift ( it's gonna be his third job since relocating back to KL ). Troika Sky Dining was a new experience for both of us. When the elevator opened on floor 23A, we were greeted by a reservation desk that served the many restaurants on that floor. Fuego is located at an o...

Isetan Kiss

At the Isetan checkout: (Leaned over to whisper into KH's ear) Moi: My credit card PIN is XXXXXX KH: ... Think I got it. Later on What's App: KH: I thought you were leaning in for a kiss just now! Moi: LOL. That's a 'kiss' that's worth a lot of money! Dear KH, Happy Chinese New Year! Happy Year of the Rooster! Happy 10th Anniversary! Love, William. P.S.: Happy CNY to all my readers of course!

Celebrating Our Nine

Image
KH & I marked our nine years together on the 28th of January , however the celebration only took place one day later on a Friday. We decided that it would be better since there wouldn't be an upcoming work day to put a damper on things. Bright and early in the morning, we took the train out to the city center. Took a leisurely walk to Feeka  and by the time we got there, KH was sweating already. Turns out that the kitchen doesn't open until an hour later so we left. Our breakfast venue was Restoran Kam Fatt  at Tengkat Tongshin. Noodles and kopi . After eating, we went back to the cafe for our second shot of coffee and slice pineapple-ginger cake ( I didn't like it at all, no sir ). Sipped our coffee and had morning small talk. At a nearby table, a lone woman in exercise gear was crying her eyes out, streaming some makeup down her cheeks. Earlier on she was on the phone with her girlfriend, pouring her heart out. At 11:00AM, we left the cafe to catch a movie at Th...

9

Image
Today marks the 9th year KH and I joined our hearts together. From not knowing much about each other we learned how to read each other's moods. From being insecure and jealous we became trusting. From being a single entity we started sharing all we had. From just the two of us we surrounded ourselves with caring friends. From cuti-cuti Malaysia  we explored the world together. From sugar-coated sex to graduated to something more primal. From an LDR we progressed to living in the same city. From the background, KH slowly eased to the foreground of my family life. From boyfriends we progressed to hubbies ( nearly got married! ).  I love you baby.

Our 8th Year Together

Image
All my colleagues flew home to KL on that Friday, leaving me to shag without any risk of interruption. During the day, KH did some banking but ended up not meeting MoonlightPiggy cause her terminally ill aunt had passed away ( rest in peace ). Once I got off work, I headed back to the hotel to meet my darling. He had made reservations at a nearby Italian restaurant in Kg. Glam called Cichetti . Our reservation was for 8 pm, but since we were both hungry as heck, we gave it a try 45 minutes earlier. Funny that I am now the one who navigates instead of KH. At the door, the waitress told us that she had no table for us. Crap. Thankfully there was a kopitiam two doors down called Dong Po Colonial Cafe ( n, they don't serve Dong Po meat ). From the name you can guess that the interior decoration is quite retro with a lot of old memorabilia. We shared a teh c and a bostock ( thankfully it was in stock ). What's a bostock you may ask? Well, it's actually a slice of crispy toas...
