6th Sense
KH organized a birthday lunch for Apollo and Andy at 6 Senses Gastrobar. It was a good opportunity to get everyone together. Timing was a tad difficult, as SK had just flew in from Istanbul that morning. 6 Senses is located in Taman Perindustrian Pusat Bandar Puchong, an area that I had not ventured to before. For some reason, most of the light industrial lots along that road were snapped up by bars, cafes, and restaurants.
6 Senses has a nice ambience and some of their food is pretty good. I recommend the Dip in Funghi and Pork Chop. The dip is actually a cream of mushroom soup topped with egg, and served with toast. Its served in a hot stone bowl, making it extra yummy. And it's unheard of for a place to serve set lunches on a weekend, so it's quite a steal.
During the lunch, SK let us try some premium Turkish Delights~ multi-hued sticks imbued with multiple flavours. My favourite is the rose petals.
Mei came came late because she drove straight up from Batu Pahat. In tow was her daughter Jaq and her baby sister. Jaq loved the mac and cheese. Who wouldn't like it when its topped with bacon?
The birthday cake was a cheesecake from Tong Kee that KH had bought. After the cake cutting, the staff let us view the private rooms on the upper floors. Usage of those rooms require a minimum spending of RM1000.
No afternoon gathering is complete without coffee. We walked to Depot by JWC just a few doors away. Depot is well-designed, incorporating some art deco elements. The place is airy and bright, and they have their air-conditioning at full blast. Their Moroccan Rose Latte is actually quite nice, but I would love it more if it was served hotter. However, too much metal and glass makes the place too noisy.
Until our next BFF gathering. And dinner was pretty interesting because we had a pillow bakzhang and YTF!
