Hamster-sitting

Image
The government announced the Langkawi Travel Bubble to kick-off the reopening of the local tourism sector. The Tribe pounced on the chance to travel further. For several Sundays they had been going to points of interests within Selangor, e.g. Pantai Morib, and Hulu Langat. On Tuesday night, my BIL managed to secure a police permit to travel by land to Langkawi. It was a five-day trip, so it fell to mum and I to babysit the latest member of their family-- Henry, a pudgy Syrian hamster. My sister brought him over in a small cage, and Little Monster handed me his hamster food, and chew snacks.  During the night, Henry is very active and would be running up and down. And he would even hang from the top of the cage like he was playing on monkey bars. One morning we woke to find that he had dismantled his hamster wheel. It had fallen down blocked his access to his water bottle. Once we moved it away, he went for a lonngggg drink. Not only that, he even managed to dislodge the water bottl...

White Lover

One day, I received an unexpected parcel from Shopee. My name was on the package, but there was nothing pending in my account. Received all my sexy gear jor. Opened it anyway, and found it to be a box of Shiroi Koibito, a European-style cookie manufactured and sold by Japanese confectionery maker Ishiya in Sapporo. A must-buy when travelling to Hokkaido. A surprise gift perhaps? Secret admirer? The first person I asked was KH:  Moi: Baby, someone sent me Shiroi Koibito. KH: Oh, that's mine. I mistakenly sent it to your house.  Whattttttttttttttttttttt???????????????? Zzz.

Paktor Post-PPV

Image
Two months passed and it was time for my second dose of Astra Zeneca. Such a long wait when one compares it to those who got Pfizer and Sinovac. KH drove me to WTC and took it as a chance to paktor . How the definition of paktor has changed. Haha. As expected, it was a smooth drive to WTC on a Sunday afternoon. Some weeks prior, vaccination appointments were screwed up the city center was locked down to thwart a political protest against the newly-minted prime minister. He was so insecure that he even shutdown the rail service. KH dropped me off at the entrance of WTC, and went to park at Sunway Putra Mall. Experience taught me to update my "COVID-19 Status" in the MySejahtera app and refresh my profile before approaching the crew at the first check point. Compared to my first appointment in July, there was noticeably less people, and there was no wait. Just kept walking from point to point. No longer needed to get to Dewan Merdeka on fourth floor. Did a quick registration,...

Watch Fit

Image
Received a super early birthday present from SK which is a Huawei Watch Fit. Not the first time she got me a wearable device. There's a Mi Band 3 somewhere in my room too. This time round, I decided to actually wear it. What prompted me to do so? It's a Huawei device, and I'm using a Huawei smartphone. There's a SpO2 reading feature on the Huawei Watch Fit. A couch potato like me would have scant use for the fitness tracking and workout features. Whenever it tells me to get active, I just ignore it. LOL. Other useful features include: Phone notification . Quite useful because my smartphone is perpetually on mute.  Sleep analysis . A lot of mumbo-jumbo, but I guess it encourages me to sleep earlier. Sometimes, it mistakenly thinks that I'm taking a nap. Do I stay THAT still? Haha. Heart rate . The novelty of reviewing my heart rate when I fap or f*ck.   What I am going to with my watches now?

Recalcitrant Cat

Image
Most of my neighbours love cats. There are five cats living with my immediate neighbour. Each cat has a different demeanour. Today I am going to talk about Nek, an alley cat that my neighbour rescued. At first, he told me that he would send it to Pasar Borong Serdang, but in end he adopted Nek. Recently, Nek found a liking to exploring rooftops. Nek would slip out from a second floor window and jump to the other houses. But there's a catch, the houses are on a slope, so the roofs are not level. So when the silly cat jumps to a house on a different level, it can't return. Nek would start meowing in the most pitiful way to catch the attention of its owner. My neighbour would then have to mount a rescue operation by dragging a ladder to my porch. Unfortunately, the rescue is not so straightforward. Instead of running to the arms of its rescuer, Nek would run away! My neighbour would have to make several attempts to lure Nek with its favourite food or favourite toy. When my neighbo...

We Need Numbers

Image
Over the weekend, colleagues across the whole group received hurried Teams meeting invite from the management. Judging from the timing, I guessed it was a long due townhall meeting. Some colleagues found it alarming and was wondering whether it was an 'earth-shattering' announcement. We didn't have one the previous year because we were too busy dealing with the start of the pandemic. And suddenly, my CEO decided to talk to all of us. The whole tone of his speech wasn't very uplifting at all. The general message was that we were surviving. The group consisted of four entities, but he merely touched on one company, ignoring the rest. The second half of his speech turned alarming when he started talking about investors and revenue numbers.  "We might not have a job next year if we don't have the numbers." "Even if you do your job well, but we don't have the numbers, then we all fail." I bet alarm bells were going off in the heads of junior staff...

Tokyo 2020

Image
The Olympics Tokyo 2020 ( which happened in 2021 ) came and went. Felt a tad underwhelming. Just paid attention to the highlights.  Misc. news . Interestingly, Tokyo was in a state of emergency during the games, which also meant no serving of alcohol. And then there was news about the so-called anti-sex beds in the Olympics village.   Opening ceremony .   Didn't sit through it, but the live action pictograms were cool because it used the concept of the kabuki kuroko or stagehand. Very fast-paced and I got a bit dizzy from the ever-changing camera angles. And the talk of the town was the Tongan flagbearer, Pita Taufatofua, who was topless and looked like he fell into a vat of pork lard.  Artistic Gymnastics . Daiki Hashimoto. He's a natural on the pommel horse, and I would find it very natural to see him being pummeled in a COAT Athlete video as well.   Diving . Tom Daley was often in the limelight, either while in skimpy swim trunks ( SimonLover commen...
