Baptism Then BKT

Pandemic Baptism

My 12-year old Godson (a blurry-eyed boy of little words) was supposed to be baptized during Easter Vigil this year. But the planned baptism didn't happen due to the MCO. The last I saw him was during the Rite of Election that was held at Holy Family Church, Kajang. When the situation improved, and the SOPs for religious rites matured, the Archbishop gave the green light. And so my Godson was baptized in September. Unlike the pre-Covid baptism, this was much simpler, and was devoid of the eucharistic celebration. They would receive their communion the next day, during Sunday mass. And the Godparents usually put their right hands on the right shoulders of their Godchildren as a sign of support, but that's not allowed now. Attendance of family and friends was minimal, and would require prior registration. Even the group photo at the end of the rite was well-spaced out according to social distancing rules. Baptisms is an important life event, and I must say that baptism during a pandemic makes it a little more memorable.

Medovik

When it was over, we left the church compound to have a fellowship lunch at Ah Hua Bak Kut Teh. A good way to celebrate. Back in Bandar Kinrara, mum and I stopped at Torte by Linda for a flat white and a slice of medovik
