There's Life After Brunei II: Church At Last!

On Sunday, KH and I got up early to have breakfast at food court near his place. A famous economy noodle stall that has a perpetual queue of customers. Nothing special in my opinion, but I guess Singaporeans are a deprived lot when it comes to decent hawker fare. Quickly rushed back up to prepare for mass at 11:00am. Ended my streak of sinnin' by celebrating mass at The Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in town. One of the oldest churches and oe could really tell from the way the paint was peeling off the vaulted ceiling. Not a big turnout of parishioners. After mass, we took some pictures. The interesting feature of the church is definitely the statues of St. Peter and St. Paul flanking the entrance. One can easily recognize 'em from the keys and book they respectively hold in their hands.

SGTCC 2010

Then we hopped next door to the Singapore Museum of Art. A promotional junket for the Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention was going on with cosplayers dressing up as Chobits and storm troopers. Was taken aback by a cross-dressing cosplayer. Definitely a nightmare for straight fans. Having killed some time there, we headed over to Lei Garden @ Chijmes. Along the way, we took some pictures at The Church of the Good Shepherd, Singapore's oldest Catholic church. Amazingly, the mass was being conducted in Korean! Did not get to take a glimpse at the priest to check whether he was a K-Pop star  lookalike. Met up with CMon, Den, Nic, Rick and Eugene at the restaurant. Had a fantastic table facing the live seafood. Was salivating at the garoupas, lobsters, geoducks and Alaskan Spider Crabs.

Lei Garden

Lei Garden was kinda so-so when one factors in the food quality and the price. Peach Garden was a better experience. My biggest complain was the fact that they didn't serve siew mai! Such blasphemy! And in the place of "Phoenix Claws" they had a version made with abalone sauce and braised peanuts. Talk about luxury. The best they offered was the egg tarts. Fantastic crust and fragrant filling. The wantan-chicken soup was also good with a solid chicken broth. The rest~ char siew pau, char siew sou, chu cheong fun (erk!) and wu kok (too compact) were average at best. Also ordered half a Peking duck. Downed the crispy skin with a thin egg wrap. The rest of the meat was later served up diced and stir-fried with vegetables to be wrapped with Chinese lettuce.

"Rapunzel" was the after-dinner movie. At Cathay. Quite enjoyable though I'm not a fan of Disney animations. Paschal, the pet Chameleon was sooooooooo cute! Most of the audience enjoyed it to the point that they clapped at several points during the plot. Next, we took the bus to Paya Lebar MRT station. Picked up KW there. My first time seeing him. A man of many surprises (will elaborate later). Took the bus to East Coast Road. Alighted and joined CMon and Den. They were supposed to recommend us a nice place to eat but CMon ended up bringing us around in circles! Wanted to strangle him!

"How about this shop? Erm. Not very nice also. Let's eat here, the fish head curry is nice le."

"You tasted it before?"

"No la. Smells nice though."

Ended up ordering some dishes at XO King Crab Restaurant, and the fish head curry from the Indian-Italian stall (!!!) next to it. Not bad la. From my table, I could see the chef's butt crack. -_-". Made a stop at CMon and Den's room. Was curious to find out how messy the room was seeing that CMon's always complaining about Den being a slob. Seeing the room, I can't help but notice that it was more organized than KH's room! LOL. My only complaint was CMon's lappie... it had a layer of dust from the 1990s I gather. In the room, we grilled KW about some of his skanky encounters and we were shocked to learn that such an innocent face actually hid an adventurous streak! Without more stories forthcoming, we headed to Le Peranakan Hotel. Finished up my Global Privilege points before they expire end December. Two thousand points only got me a small room there. Painfully yellow and bright with dark laquered furniture and gold trimmings. The queen bed dominated the room and just at the foot of the bed was the frosted glass door to the loo.

Porcelain

Before calling it a night, we had tong sui at the nearby C-9 Cafe. It was horrid. I ordered the yam and almond paste and it had the consistency of plaster of paris. Yuck. Being the only customers inside, we were quite boisterous with our stories. I think the kitchen staff overheard our gay sex stories as I found him trying hard to stifle a smirk. Being a Sunday night, we did not stay too long and headed back up to the hotel. Though the shower stall was small, we managed to squeeze in. Ever committed to 'saving water'. :D. We should have used the jacuzzi on the terrace! Snuggled next to KH on the big bed and watched "The Sleuth". A weird movie. Finishing that, I got KH to massage my poor calves. Definitely not one for a gentle, firm massage. I was screaming away even before the sex started.... :P.

Oh I always loved churches that look traditional and old architecture compared to shoplots or old cinemas! Anyway, the Gods are still the same. You seem like a real restless auntie, running all over places! Where do you get those energy?? :)

@Derek:
We could have strangled him together as a couple's activity.

@Twi:
When on holiday, one needs to make the best of the limited time! Energy comes from the bf perhaps.
