Begawan VI: The Real Work Begins

Image
Christiano Ronaldo 03 Swiped from eeed1982 . The final day of my setup. Settled most of the issues. For those that could not be fixed on time, workarounds would be used or ignored altogether. Just need to steer clear of the errors. Lunch was at Singapore Chicken Rice again. This time round, I ordered their cashew nut chicken rice. It's supposed to be kungpao chicken I think, but the colour's all wrong and it tastes more like sweet and sour sauce to me. Haha. But at least it looks better than their huatan ho . Yes, huatan ho . One thing that still surprises me about Brunei is how civilized their drivers are. If you cross the road at a zebra crossing, they actually stop. Like in Singapore. In Malaysia, they run you down even with the traffic light in place ( Oh, did I do thaattt? ). Dinner was at a vegetarian joint. Tried something called cha zhai bihun . Some kind preserved vegetable soup. Really sour. Not bad, but the portion was so measly. Supplemented dinner with pineap

Begawan V: Riverside Sunday

Image
Water Taxis Swiped from williamnyk . Well, I spent my Sunday in the office too. Breakfast was air-conditioned fried noodles. Cold! Fatty Boss picked us up in the company Innova and it was quite a ride! Nothing clears your mind like the sound of tires screeching from an emergency break. Worked and worked until lunch time when Fatty Boss came over to treat us at Fratini's . The Italian restaurant was located just beside the river where Kampong Ayer 's located. One can see water taxis zipping across the river bringing the occupants to and fro. Once they alight, the occupants continue own with their own automobiles parked on the other side. It all seemed quite haphazard. Boats were anchored in the middle of the river and everyone was just going against the surf at high speed. Ordered spaghetti vongole with fish buillion. So-so. Washed it down with a glass of honey dew juice. Back to work for a couple of hours. Such a chore to get the system up. Never touched it before. Lot

Gnome Around The World III

Image
I'm sure you guys are getting sick of Bandar Seri Begawan already, so I'll put in a filler post. A break la katakan . Today's episode sees Gnome travelling to Angkor Wat . He's definitely fond of the topless Apsaras, the horny old bastard. Not really my choice of a holiday destination ( neither are topless Apsaras ). I can imagine the itinerary: Day 1: Ruins. Day 2: More ruins. Day 3: Ruins with faces. Day 4: Batu. Tanah. Pasir. You get the picture. :P. But KH and Nic did manage to 'persuade' me to go to Borbodur in September. Ish. And hikes at Mount Merapi at 3:00am! WTF. What am I getting myself into?!

Begawan IV: Sore on a Saturday

Image
Woke up with a dry throat. The air-conditioning and the super MSG in Brunei food must have gotten to me finally. Breakfast was fried rice again. Also laden with MSG. I drank four cups of water while waiting for the driver to arrive. At work. On a Saturday. Ugh. Was also busy playing iAssociate 2 on the iPhone. I think I'm addicted to that word association game. At the office we immediately got to work and solved several big obstacles. During lunch, we were joined by another two colleagues who brought us to a nearby mamak shop. 2 pieces of chicken kurma + bitter gourd + white rice + pulled tea only cost B$3.60. My cheapest meal in Brunei so far. Dropped by at Guardian to pick up a bottle of mouthwash. Chose a bottle with thymol and hexitidine. Really had a kick! Went back to work after lunch, but there were still some issues to iron out. Left work at around 7:00pm and had dinner at Restoran Golden Leaf again. This time round, I ordered porridge with stir fried siew pak choy , pump

Begawan III: Smoke and Surprises

Image
iPhone14 Swiped from williamnyk . Learning from yesterday's experience, we got up a little later. Breakfast was more decent with fried rice and egg toast. We went directly to the server room to start installing our application. Was inexperienced with Windows Server 2008, so we hit several snags along the way. Luckily things started looking up by lunch. Had fried mee hoon at the nearby foodcourt. It was just beside a restaurant selling live lobsters for B$7.80 per 100gms. Saw some really giant lobsters! I think they were staring at me. And so funny to see them label cockles as seaham . LOL. I made a conclusion about Brunei food. Salt, sugar and MSG is used liberally. And their MSG is of premium quality. Spend a year there and you'll lose all your hair. After lunch, we chilled out at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Ordered my Today's Brew as usual. I showered myself with raw sugar after flapping a faulty packet. Sienz! I think I found sugar in my underwear. :P. Worked and work

Begawan II: The Office

Image
Yam Claypot Noodles Swiped from williamnyk . I did not sleep well the night before. The pillow was so soft that it gave no support. My eyes were open at 5:30am and I was greeted by Lan's snoring. Tried to get back to sleep. Was a little difficult, but I managed. Lady Gaga's Telephone dragged me out from my slumber 1.5 hours later. Did my stretches and got ready for work. By 7:30am, we were at the hotel cafeteria looking for food. We were the first to arrive. Had a little bit of their super-salty and sweet fried flat noodles. Next was oranges and watermelon cut to look like mini Xmas trees. :S. I passed on the egg mayo sandwiches. It looked more like Nippon Watherbond than mayo. We took the company's shuttle van to work. There was no morning rush hour traffic. There's never any rush. So unlike my days in Metro Jakarta. The project site turned out to be the gymnasium at the top of a building transformed into a software development center. LAN cables were nailed i

Happy Birthday Uncle!

Image
Tien Yin I Swiped from williamnyk . Note: I interrupt my Begawan arc for this update. Got ahead of myself. Hehe. Last Sunday was my uncle's 66th birthday celebration, so mum, sis, BIL, Cyan and I headed for Bagan Sungai Burung after Sunday Mass. We arrived at about 5:00pm and I must say that I was surpised to find that village roads were now tarred. The whole porch was crawling with grandkids and the place was strewn with rubbish. No matter how many times I see it, I can never really get used to it. The celebration was at a nearby restaurant-- Tien Yin . It was easy to spot the place cause loud chink techno was already playing. The stage was set and the entertainer ( a skinny uncle in an oversized chinese suit ) was busy choosing his songs. We chose a table far away from the speakers and waited for the rest of the guests to arrive. Upon sitting, mum was already busy gossiping. Guess what? Five days ago, my uncle's Vietnamese mail order bride had just arrived. 34 years

Begawan I: Time Warp

Image
iPhone10 Swiped from williamnyk . I woke up early on Wednesday to do some last minute packing and had a breakfast of fried noodles with mum. At around 10:30am, the taxi driver came over and I hugged mum and Cyan goodbye. The ride to LCCT seemed quite short with me fiddling on the iPhone for 40 minutes. The check-in queue for AK266 to Bandar Seri Begawan was quite long. Everyone had loads of luggage to check-in. The Bruneians seemed intent to bring back a BIG slice of Kuala Lumpur to their home country. Lovely. While waiting for my colleagues, I had a cup of brewed coffee at a coffee shop near the boarding gates. Boarding was a breeze as our company got express boarding for us. Two cuties on board, and one happened to be a colleague. Wohooo... The flight was uneventful. The food was expectedly horrible. I had pre-booked Asian Fried Rice with Chicken Satay. Horrible. Please avoid it all costs. I felt like I was eating sand. Even the chicken was more moist. :S. I finished it anyw

Red Hot

Image
I have been taking notice of this DJ from RED FM... from his recent pictures in The Star, he does look kinda cute to me! A bit nerdy, but so fresh-faced and fair. A nice smile too! Too bad there aren't many of his pictures on the internet. Perhaps SimonLover can dig up some more. Perhaps he'll even find a skanky pic or two. LOL. Have not listened to his voice over the radio yet. But got to admit, this pic on their website doesn't quite do him justice. Makes him look really thin. What do you guys think?

Sow Your Wild Oats

Image
Sow Your Wild Oats Swiped from ecstaticist . Xavier suddenly added Bunny and I on group chat late one night. The conversation started with a "999" clip about gay activities in Taman Miharja. It was quite entertaining about how they were going on about the subject. The usual gay-bashing. Adds my love for the term aktiviti songsang . Sounds cool. Hahaha. Then out of the blue, he started on how Bunny and I should enjoy our youth by going to saunas and having strings of ONS although our age is only 1 year apart. Somehow, all that doesn't really appeal to me. I know the argument is to sow your oats when you're young and settle down later. We're only young once and we will never quite reclaim that feeling of invincibility and physical prowess. Of course, the riskier it is, the more pleasure we derive from it, and so, one must also be level-headed about all this hedonism. Having said all this, I still don't think that I'm wasting my youth ( not that I ha

Brunei

Jame'Asr Hassanal Bolkiah, Brunei Swiped from Dan1897 . Hi guys and girls! I'll be flying to Brunei tomorrow for a business trip and won't be back till next Thursday. Hate meeting clients. Blegh. Hopefully all will go well and the preparations that were done are sufficient. But I am still uneasy because I'm bringing a product that I am hardly familiar with. Hopefully my colleagues can cover for me. I don't know if I'll have the time to go to Miri or perhaps meet up some of KH's friends who have just relocated there this month. See how things go lo! Wish me luck!

There are actually two differences. But I'm not sure if you can detect it from the picture. Let the games begin!

Dreaming Of You

Image
Dream Swiped from marisa larisa . The biggest qualm about being in an LDR is always the lack of physical intimacy. "Goodness! What do you do for sex?!" "Kan tahan mehhhhhhh???" "I'd go crazy if I didn't get to see my BF for so long" These are just a few from the myriad of responses that I get from people. Well, I'm definitely no Shaolin monk and neither am I asexual. It's very usual to get horny and of course one needs to have a healthy outlet for those urges. The obvious choice is of course to sleep around spank one's salami. And of course one can throw in the occasional phone sex or sexting. But not everyone can appreciate moaning over the phone. So in such a state of drought ( as Leggie and Grat like to put it ), would you think that I regularly get sex dreams about KH? My bestie in Germany once said: "Of course you don't get sex dreams about KH! He's your BF!" LOL. In a way, it's kind of true. The Dre

Steaming for Dinner

Image
Char Siew Swiped from williamnyk . On Sunday, I had my favourite char siew wantan noodles at Aman Suria right after church. I was extra grateful during mass that day because I bumped into three cute guys at the cafeteria. Tall and Korean-looking. Totally yummy. Back to the other 'meat'. Business was extra good that day, so the delicious sausages were sold out ( sayur pun habis! ). So we just made with the deliciously thick and juicy char siew . After lunch, we went home to rest for a while before my swim. Mum on the other ponteng and went to a friend's house in Seri Petaling. After my swim, we stopped over for a while and had some home-grown corn ( she turned her bungalow into a farm, :S ). Her friend recommended that we have dinner at Harbour Steamboat in Seri Petaling. It was a good recommendation, but we had to wait for an hour before we were seated ( and the waitress had the nerve to say, "Have to wait very long hor?" ). Thank goodness I had the iPhon

LRT Celebrities: iPhone Edition I

LRT Celebrity Swiped from williamnyk . For my loyal viewers, this is the inaugural edition of LRT Celebrities: iPhone Edition . Expect clearer shots and better quality with the spy pics taken via my iNyk! Today's edition is woman ( Sis A ) who is having a loud conversation with her sister. She was taking the LRT to Bt. The Gathering of the Greek Gods (Kononnya)

Image
Bavarian Bierhaus Swiped from williamnyk . Saturday was marked by the usual marketing routine. Many people were out of town for the long weekend, so that explains the lull in the usual bustling market. We finished up pretty quickly and headed to Carrefour at Endah Parade to raid their promo salmon steaks. Together with two other women, we waited around for them to slice up another fish. Half of it was snapped up in half a minute. Thinking back, Carrefour Sri Petaling is just a sad, faded shadow of its heyday seven years ago. It used to be super crowded and very happening. Now, the whole complex is kinda like an overripe zit waiting to be popped. Breakfast was upstairs at Uncle Chong's Kopitiam . Decent curry mee but lousy service. Fully manned by migrant workers. Did some chores at home. Mopped the floor. Hanged up a painting. Lunch was late and light. Soba with nori , bonito flakes and some tororo konbu . Had a short nap after that while the rain raged outside. At night, we h

Too Much Yang

Image
Yin Yang Star Back Tattoo Swiped from David Schexnaydre . All of my female colleagues have either resigned or had been transferred out, leaving only guys in my team. An imbalance has occurred. Now, my colleagues like to touch each other, tweaking each other's nipples and caressing thighs... even at the public food court. I am... shocked and amused at the same time. Hehehehe. WAKAKAKAKAKA. Straight men. Hah!

Wesak

Image
iPhone6 Swiped from williamnyk . Early on Wesak morning, mum, SK and I went out to K3K Benta Kaya for breakfast. Why there you may ask? Cause they gave me a coupon for a free topee ( round bread toast with butter and kaya, very crispy and light ) on my next visit. Clever marketing. Just to redeem that, I spent MYR33 on breakfast. Ordered some of their noodles and I must say they all sucked. Don't bother. Just eat their toast. Their other mains suck big time. Having had my fill of noodles and nasi kunyit , we made a beeline for the wet market to get some fruits. Mum wanted to visit our ex-neighbour in OUG. Her MIL is now bedridden after a stroke. When we got there, she was not at home. After some futile attempts to communicate with her new Cambodian maid, we just went in to wait. My ex-neighbour came home not long after we arrived. Turns out that her MIL had been warded in UMMC due to bed sores and complications from her diabetic condition. So we had a long talk with her

Excuse me, are you peeing?

Image
Piss like there's no tomorrow Swiped from abej2004 . Remember my lunch at BV1 on Sunday ? Well, I left out a very juicy part in the story. Thought that it warrants a post by itself. On arrival at BV2, we went up to the first floor to use the SkyWalk. Before going over, I used the toilet there. As I walked in, I noticed a young guy in his early twenties at the urinal nearest to the wall. Since there were many more unoccupied urinals, I chose a spot one urinal away from him. As I started my business, a father and his two daughthers exited the loo. And from the corner of my eye, I detected the young guy flopping his cock. I took some time to empty my bladder and he was still at it until I was done. When I finished, I purposely turned over to peek. He definitely wasn't peeing and I saw his semi-flaccid dick. Was he cruising or did he have an enlarged prostate? I think the former would be more plausible. On hindsight, maybe I should have looked over and gave him a hamsap g

Da Ma Cai Sunday

Image
Mizu I Swiped from williamnyk . On Pentecost Sunday , I was at the very last minute roped in to be a hospitality minister again. I'm beginning to think that the Liturgy Group aunty has put me in her reserve list. No untoward incidents, but my sash fell off during the walk away from the altar. That was kinda comical. But not as comical as dropping your pants. :P. Mum had hit Da Ma Cai on Saturday, so lunch was on her. We went to Mizu at Bangsar Village I. The only reason we were there was because we wanted to go to the cobbler downstairs. The sifu ( he wears a size 4! ) was there today and he was very professional. Hopefully he can save my favourite pair of suede Lewre shoes. After so many years, the stitching's still fine and the leather oh-so-soft! Just that the colour's a bit off now. Mizu has an open kitchen concept and the air-conditioning wasn't strong. So you can imagine that we were sweating under the lights. And since we sat near the drinks bar, it w

Let The Fire Fall

During a Pentecost gathering, one guy stood up to speak during a scripture discussion session. "It is a sign of the times. The end is near. Earthquakes. Floods. Two men hugging and talking of love. Homosexuals. Lesbians. We must always be vigilant!" A dark cloud immediately descended on my mum's face. Looks like it's still a taboo subject for her. :P. But anyway, I don't see what's wrong with two men telling each other that they love each other. Even Jesus loved his disciples!

Gotta Stop

Image
I hate to admit this, but I think I really have too many pairs of underwear . I try to rotate my collection so that none of my babies are neglected and I find that it takes me more than 2 months to see a familiar face. Some I had even forgotten about. Hehe. And I still have unworn stock in my drawers!!! And KH also contributes to my stash. And as for swim trunks, I have 5 pairs at the moment! Although its nice to get an honourable mention ( that post of his really boosted the visitors to my blog! ), I think really have to stop buying for now. But... before that, lemme introduce some of the newcomers! :P

Pooh Spotted In Cheras

Image
On Saturday, did my usual wet market thing. Thank goodness the crowd was less on that day. The price of vegetables had skyrocketed, so even the wholesalers did not have much to sell. It rained, making it a cool day. After that, I accompanied SK to her TCM follow-up. Think she's making some progress with the practitioner, but his techniques are a little unconventional . The session took longer than usual, so we were late to pick up Pooh and his friend, Donchadh at Hotel Maluri. Traffic also held us up with Cheras being Cheras. Lemme reiterate, I hate Cheras . Jalan Cheras, how I hate you! Cheras signboards, HATEZ! Anyway, by the time we picked up the girls, Carpe Diem was already waiting at the restaurant-- Sim Hap Ke . SK got in touch with Junior and he recommended the place. Just 10 minutes away, provided the road is clear. But, who I am I kidding, it's Cheras we're talking about. OK, OK, no more Cheras-bashing. I've gotten it all out of my system. Lunch was at 2:00pm.

Stir

My colleague says that I have a weird habit. I would stir my cup with my teaspoon although all I have in it is warm water. Is that so weird?

Curry Chicken Monday

Image
My blue balls ended on Monday. My swimmers were finally emancipated from their prison. Such a relief! I was supposed to take the whole day off, but a surprise meeting with my GM scuttled that plan. So at noon, I came over to his house and fetched him to SK's 'Love Mansion'. Both of us were in no mood to have lunch. On arrival, we started 'rediscovering' what we had forgotten about each other. SK's balcony was open~~ I think we may have scared the neighbours. :P. Post-coitus, I headed downstairs to reheat the lunch that SK had so graciously prepared in the morning. So typical of KH to rest in the room to wait for me to holler! By that time we were famished and hungrily ate the curry chicken ( so ngam, KH always takes curry chicken on Monday ), herbal soup and salad. After lunch, we were in manja mode and watched a movie or two. KH fell asleep for a while... so cute to find him asleep when I called for him. Before five, we got dressed and went out to Sweet Hut

Blue Balls

Image
growth Swiped from The Ambulance . Ever heard of Blue Balls ? According to an old Kinsey sex manual that belonged to my brother, it's said to be a myth. But it's very real for me! I had 'em during my weekend with KH. We met on Saturday for JL's birthday , but only got minimal and restricted 'alone' time during the drive back. Then we met on Sunday during the swim at his place. The pool wasn't that quiet as it was father-son day at the kiddy pool! We were joking about DILFs. :P. The water did provide some cover and of course being near-naked around each other does have its effects! And so, in the end, we were feeling quite restless, jumpy and congested from the lack of 'follow-through'. :S. 'Grounding my swimmers' as Janvier likes to put it. The best solution is to reset the system. How best to reset the system? Let it ALL out! Hahahaha. Have you ever experienced it?

Eat, Swim & Eat Some More

Image
On Sunday, I dragged my tired ass out of bed to celebrate the 9:00am English mass. After that, SK and I went to Lotus, Aman Suria for breakkie. Just a simple meal of rava dosai and teh tarik . Then I went home to change and left for SK's place for a lunch date with LifeBook and Leggie. SK was only at half capacity that day, she whipped up a giant pot of pepper pork stomach soup, stir-fried lotus root with carrots and snowpods and pan-fried salmon with shimeji mushrooms. Her pepper stomach soup was very good for a first try! ( there goes my anti-innards pledge ). Everyone was super sleepy after lunch. We lazed around in the living room chatting about catching the eye of rich Dato's and saving on years in the workforce. By 3:00pm, the guests left and SK and I went to KH's place for a swim. Tried on KH's pair of rejected white trunks. Not bad la, but the BF says can see skin at the back when wet. :P. Did my 15 laps and tried to jumpstart my freestyle again with the help

A Slice of Japan II

Image
This is a short continuation from my last post about goodies that SK brought back from her Japan trip. Here are some of the postcards of Japanese woodblock prints that she bought. Cool, right? Framed 'em up with the help of some IKEA ingenuity and its ready to be hung up. The woman on the far right even has one of her boobs exposed. Haha. Perhaps next time she'll buy me postcards of COAT West porn stars or something to that effect. :P

Hock Choon Me

Image
Textures @ Fukuharu Swiped from williamnyk . JL's birthday was around the corner. Alex waited until the last minute to get things finalized! Many, many suggestions were thrown around. Knowing the BFF, half of the suggestions would be sampat de . But anyway, DanielH gave a very good suggestion-- Terrace at Hock Choon , Jalan Ampang. A nice cozy bungalow housing 9 restaurants. Definitely a snooty place, but the staff were not snooty at all! JL chose Japanese cuisine, so it was Fukuharu . The moment we stopped the car, we were greeted by a grinning Bangladeshi parking attendant who even opened the car door for us. In the background, one hears Pop Gemalan being piped out from IR1968, their Indonesian restaurant. Cool. KH, SK, LifeBook, Leggie and I were the first to arrive. We were shown into our room-- a glass room that housed their bar. A good choice on their part cause we are quite a boisterous group. We have had our fair share of complaints. :P. The early bird gets the worm--

Poke Me

Image
On Saturday morning, mum, sis and my BIL left for Ipoh to go on a JJCM trip. When I awoke, the house was already empty. I took my Iswara Skyline ( as my colleagues affectionately call it-- a Skyline converted into an Iswara, I kid you not, :P ) for an overdue oil change. SK picked me up from the mechanic's and we headed out to Citrus Park for a haircut. I was the first customer of the day. Found out that my shampoo girl got married on April's Fool! Was waiting for Grat to arrive, but we finished early and he was running late, so we burned some time with my stylist. Did a lot gossiping and FB-ing. By noon, we headed off to Kuchai Lama for our appointment. Lunch was at Kam Hin . Never tried the dim sum there. Supposedly famous. My verdict-- mediocre at best. The wu kok had a nice filling, but the skin failed. The siew mai was super big! Yummy to sink your teeth into. The har kaw failed due to the skin. They have issues with their translucent dim sum skin. The chu cheong fun

Cholest-Away!

Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Swiped from sproutgrrl . My last blood profile was done about two years ago and so after marketing one Saturday, I marched myself into Pathlab. The process was painless as the phlebotomist was very skilled. However, I was a bit shocked that she handled blood without any latex gloves on. Errr... She touched the blood-soaked cotton with her bare hands hor... Anyway, I came back on Friday to collect the results and boy were they shocking! The total cholesterol was out the roof!!! Even higher than my mother's! So sad. Luckily, my HDL is high, but then, so is my LDL. Looks like I have to start making some adjustments. It's not like I eat unhealthily to begin with... sigh. Gonna increase my fiber intake wth oats and try to reduce overall fats. No more egg yolks and internal organs. KH tells me to take some nuts too. And of course exercise. Need to fit in more cardio. This would be challenging. Wish me luck!

Evil, Thy Name is Barney

Image
Thomas & Barney Swiped from Soggy Semolina . Of all the evils in the world, my sister had to expose little Cyan to Barney ! The purple dinosaur touted as a "valuable resource to child educationists all over the world". I really have no idea how this purple menace who looks like it had one too many botched collagen implants managed to gain popularity. The kid watches the video at least twice a day. He gets so excited and rocks left and right whenever he hears the theme song. Then he'll find a comfy spot on the sofa and watch it. To him, Barney is gong long , dinosaur in mandarin. And when he sees Baby Bob ( a slutty, green female triceratops with way too much mascara ), he'll go "Who this? Who this?". Whatever the case, Barney helps us keep Cyan out of our hair for a while. Have to admit that... I on the other hand grew up watching Sesame Street and TV Pendidikan . The younger generation may have been exposed to Teletubbies , Pork Chop and wha

How Did We First Meet?

Image
Meeting for the first time Swiped from rich66 ~~ . My little chat with Janvier over lunch the other day got me thinking how my friendships with the BFF started. I don't have the full details but I can remember some bits and pieces. For KH, itu sudah story la . Mentioned it several times already, here and there. Back in those days, KH was known as The Godfather . Why you ask? It's because he was the biggest 'social-slut' back then. He kinda knew everyone. And he was the person who introduced me to the pioneer group of the BFF. It happened on 2007/01/01. So easy to remember, right? At Siam Square , BTS. I wonder if that Thai joint is still in business. At that lunch party, I met Alex, Apollo, QueerRant, Clay, Harv and Bunny for the very first time. I hope I did not leave anyone out. It was a culture shock for me. I was so naive back then and QueerRant's flamboyant character nearly made me wanna bolt for the LRT station. Kidding la. Hehe. And I still rememb

Everyday is Mothers Day

Image
On Mothers Day, we did not do anything specific as a cake ( a delicious Green Tea from RT Bakery ) was aleady cut on the 5th. The whole thing kinda got mixed up. 1st of May - Mum's early birthday celebration. 5th of May - Mum's exact birthday, but we celebrated Mothers Day instead. So come the 9th of May, what does one do? Celebrate again of course! LOL. Went to mass as usual, but with the special blessing for mothers of course. On that day, I was at the last minute roped in to become a hospitality minister again. Aih. Made some mistakes as the liturgy was a little different, but anyhow quite ok la. At least this time round I wasn't wearing my eye-catching deep-V chili red top! For lunch, we wanted to go to Delicious . Not keen to jam at MV, so we headed to BVI. Little did we know that it was actually D'Lish and not Delicious. The same group, but heck of a different menu. Took some time to order as what I wanted wasn't available. Ended up ordering Spaghetti Arrab

Stormies prayers Swiped from JDTX63 . MYR1,000,000,000 for flood mitigaton in Sibu. MYR50,000 for 363 FELDA settlers each. Money is being poured out generously at by-elections. Pray that your elected representative croaks. From the same Sibu flood mitigation article: "Muhyiddin, who is also education minister, said that education was a sensitive issue that should be kept separate from politics." Goodness. If this was the case, then MCA would have nothing to talk about during rallies.

Alcohol at Amcorp

Image
It had been some time since my last lunch break with Janvier. I still remember that he was just starting out with The Chief. At that time, I was attending some training course in Petaling Jaya, so he recommended that we meet up at Amcorp Mall's Ume Tei . I still remember being shocked that he ordered sake . After the lunch, I boarded the LRT back to the office and I remember being a little lightheaded. Fast-forward to 2010, SK and I had another lunch with him at the same restaurant. But this time, the main point was to have sake during lunch. LOL. So we sat down to chirashi don , salmon battayaki ( you ordered this the last time too! ) and mixed sashimi . The cuts of the fish was quite thick and the price reasonable. The chawanmushi was also very smooth and flavourful but it looked really 'tanned'! We finished two bottles of sake and talked till the lunch crowd left. Back in the office, I felt sleepy... either from the alcohol or the sushi rice!!! Back at the office, it w

Just Shoot Me

Image
Car Chase Swiped from Prints Charming Original Fabrics . About the shooting of Aminulrasyid : "There is a danger that the Attorney General may be influenced by public pressure in deciding to prosecute the Police Officers on duty due to public pressure instead of basing on the facts of the investigations. This is similar to instances whereby innocent victims were penalized or made scapegoats for a crime they did not commit due to mounting public pressure." I don't think the AG has ever been pressured by public perception. There should be more pressure from the powers-that-be. But anyway, just look at the Kugan case. If emotions did not run high, his death would have gone unpunished. The truth never revealed with their so-called 'investigations' and 'autopsies'. People feel that the system does not protect them, hence some 'sensitive' things must put in the spotlight so that justice can prevail. Well, at least some times.
