PBJ

Rainy Morning

The morning started off really wet. But the rain didn't deter mum and I from going for our morning walk at Taman Saujana Hijau. Nothing a hoodie or an umbrella couldn't solve. Also we were dead set to pick up some pine needles to complete the mini manger in our nativity scene! Haha. Breakfast was a piping hot bowl of fishball noodles at Restoran Jin Man in Equine Park. Then I had to make a trip to Pos Laju Balakong which was 16 kilometers away to collect my parcel. This day and age, they still suck at delivery. They will never call, and just leave you a "failed delivery" notice. Come on, no courier does that anymore. Comes as no surprise that they are in the red by more than 100 million. Luckily I did not run into the flash floods that was reported in Balakong.

Nativity Scene

In the evening, it was time to visit Pavilion Bukit Jalil (PBJ - like peanut butter and jelly hor?), the latest mall in my neighbourhood. KH and I kept putting off the visit because we heard that it was less than half-baked. But we caved anyway. Getting into the car park was quite a pain because they forced us to circle around the whole mall just to go into a particular entrance. Once inside, parking was a breeze. Dinner was ten times harder though. PBJ is huge and empty. Most of the tenants were still renovating. Food options were extremely limited. Ended up at Eight Avenue, a non-halal food court with a centralized ordering system. Some famous hawkers all under one roof. We had Sami BKT and Kim Lian Kee Hokkien noodles.

The Food Merchant

Next we visited The Food Merchant, a premium grocer in the league of B.I.G. What I like about it is that they actually have their own food court with an assortment of cuisine-- Thai, Nyonya, Japanese, Italian, British, etc. Could have eaten there just now. The Christmas decorations at the center atrium were pretty, and it was set up like its sister mall in Bukit Bintang, but with a difference-- instead of a sky light, PBJ had a dome which was used for projections. The lights dimmed a bit and the music played, and nearly everyone craned their necks up to watch the animation. Drew's company help them set it up, but due to a slashed budget, they only installed the minimum number of projectors, hence the washed up quality.

Christmas Projection

With nothing else to do there, we hunted for a cafe (looked high and low). Artelier was the only choice. Should be my first and last time at the cafe! But anyway, I think it will take at least half a year for the mall to reach a decent level of readiness.

Is this next to a highway?

I have not visited this PBJ. It's a mistake for malls to open when it's half baked. Remember UE3?
Now the new Pavillion coming up at Damansara Heights will be crazy traffic.
