Evergreen Exercise

Up The Hill

For some time now, I've heard of Taman Saujana Hijau in Precint 11 of Putrajaya. I've seen some photos of it posted by a church member and an ex-colleague. Been wondering if its suitable to bring my mother. Early one October morning, we went anyway as we were sick and tired of Taman Bukit Jalil. It's approximately 16 kilometers from my house, about a twenty-minute drive. When we arrived, the parking situation was pretty chaotic, and I made a mental note to arrive earlier next time. From the car park, one has to climb a few flight of stairs (bad news for the wheelchair-bound) to get to the park. The stairs are narrow, and midway up, one has to perform the usual MySJ scanning. The park management should definitely look into constructing a separate set of stairs for smoother human traffic, and social distancing.

Gazebo

Taman Saujana Hijau is a park that spans 47 acres of land. The path snakes around a hilly terrain full of evergreens. Everywhere you look, you will catch sight of either pine, spruce, thuja, or fir. There's also plenty of cycads. Along the way, there are several gazebos in a variety of styles. And there's no lack of breathtaking lookout points that give a sprawling view of Putrajaya. Mum and I were also pretty surprised that it's a popular picnic spot. Families would lug boxes of food and photography props up. Proves how scenic the place is. On our maiden trip there, we did 5 kilometers there and called it a morning. Rewarded ourselves with a good bowl of curry noodles from Pak Kopi Kaw at Equine Park.

Down The Path

Dinner plans were with KH, SimonLover, HornyBF, and TummyFull. SimonLover had the honour of choosing the venue-- Fresh Fried Seafood which is in KH's neighbourhood but he never ever tried it. It was nice being able to meet up with HornyBF since he braved the quarantine to re-enter Malaysia. Food was OK, but I think we chose too much fried stuff. Overheard from an adjacent table full of young'uns:

Waitress: The salted egg bitter gourd is our signature dish.

Young'uns: Eeee, so bitter. Don't want la.

Waitress: Not bitter one la.

We froze, half expecting the waitress to point to our table-- a bunch of uncles digging into a plate of salted egg bitter gourd.

PS: Thanks SimonLover for the belated birthday gift of a Tenga Spinner #6 (Brick)! My first ever aeroplane cup. Should I do a review?

I love all the parks and cycling routes around Putrajaya. I almost wanted to buy a house there as they are cheap and abandoned! LOL
