Box Up That Virus

Boxing Day brought mum and I to the specialist clinic. Mum's appointment was due, and we spent quite some time there waiting for the doctor. Business was brisk. Many MCO pregnancies. Huhu. As usual, we had our favourite Teochew fishball noodles at You Noodle House. And because it was too late to go to the OUG morning market, we went to the nearby Puteri Mart instead. The concept is pretty good, everything under one roof. Basically a mini morning market with all the additional requisites-- pharmacy, prayer paraphernalia, clothes, household items, etc. A good selection of vegetable and butcher stalls inside. Fruits seem a tad limited. 

Two appointments that day. Danny invited KH, Ivan, and /I to his house for a mala hotpot lunch. In my opinion, it's such a waste that good pork bone broth was used as a base for mala soup. Can't drink any of it. Sad. He kept feeding us big prawns and Sakura rolls. While stuffing our faces, it was also a money talk about investment opportunities. 

The dinner appointment was organized by KH. He treated Lifebook, Mei (she wore a long evening dress and put make up on!), MiniMei, Apollo, Apollo's mum, SK, mum, and I to dinner at Eyuzu, Eastin Hotel. The last time I ate there was in 2015, for my birthday. The CMCO had killed their business, so they offered 50% off their ala carte menu during off-peak hours. A steal (a sashimi and unagi bento set was only MYR35!), but it didn't bring them much business from the looks of things. Mum brought a whole bunch Santa hats that we used for a group photo. Really adds to the mood. The restaurant added Christmas-themed paper cutouts to their Japanese paper lanterns, and even erected a snowman with red plastic pail on its head. XD. 

After dinner drinks was at Pastryville at Section 17. Not the best of cafes, but we chose it for the proximity and lack of crowd. MiniMei couldn't take the suspense and ripped open her Christmas present. Immediately put on cute reindeer hair clips and mum and I got her, and started recording silly videos! I was also surprised to learn that MiniMei loves watching Dianxi Xiaoge, a food YouTuber who showcases the food culture of Yunnan. I subscribe to her channel too! Haha.
