Skin-Deep

KH introduced me to his new friend KV over dinner. The dinner place was called Ah Tan Kitchen over in Connaught. KV works in the food and beverage industry as a supplier, an interestingly he does tattooing on the side. While we were having the butter chicken, soggy abacus seeds, and fried pork, he described his journey into inking the human skin. From the sound of it, there really is no accredited place to learn. His beginners class was months of sketching on paper. During the next stage, they practiced with synthetic skin. According to him, many advanced courses were con jobs. Guess in this kind of trade, its important to apprentice with masters. But anyway, being an amateur tattoo artist is no way to make a living, hence the day job.

Beans and Yogurt

Then we went to Beans and Yogurt on the other side of the main road. The "Beans" refers to coffee beans, not soya beans. I ordered a long black to make up for the lousy white coffee I had during dinner. And we shared a slice of chempedak cake, which was more like a chempedak crumble really. I liked it. The cafe's decoration was odd. An identity crisis of sorts. At the cashier, it's full on CNY. Adjacent to it, some Tibetan vibe. The rest of it is style dujour-- Nordic. Talked more to KV, and he began to warm up to me. He's fun to talk to, and with just the Goldilock's amount of bitchiness. Coincidentally, we met KV's lecturer at the mid-autumn gathering, and we thought it would be fun to arrange a reunion for them. Perhaps a teacher-student fantasy scene that they would like to reenact. LOL.

Honestly I love to see gym guys with partial tattoos on their arms. It makes them look sexy with curvy muscles. Somehow I will never wish to have any tattoo on myself.

@Twi:
When the canvas is in tip-top condition then look nice lo.

@Derek:
Must get the right tattoo. Bad tattoo choices are a put-off.
