Pandemic Parish, Volcanic Lunch
Towards the end of July, mum and I registered to attend Sunday mass. A week before the date, I registered through an ever-changing Google Form. Once we received the confirmation e-mail, we knew that we were good to go. Rules were enforced, an amalgamation of parish. archdiocese, and government SOP.
- Entry to the church compound will be prohibited half an hour before the mass time.
- Maximum seating for each pew was two parishioners. Due to that arrangement, the church was running at 30% seating capacity.
- No choir, only pre-recorded hymns.
- Parishioners aren't allowed to remove their face masks, except for a brief period during communion.
- No hugging and shaking of hands during the "sign of peace".
- Communion by hand only (there are Catholics who are not happy about this).
- No lingering in the church proper, and on the church compound after mass is over.
- "The Body of Christ".
- (Mask on) : "Amen!".
- (Mask off and extend hands)
- (Consume the sacred host)
- (Mask on)
Met up SK for lunch at Little Jungle House Cafe in Kuchai Lama. Waited for 45 minutes, all for the sake of trying the Volcano Curry Noodles. That jumbo bowl of curry noodles has enough carbs to feed four persons. And its topped with chicken, charsiu, roast pork, prawns, clams, mussels, fish slices, cuttlefish, cockles, string beans, eggplant, deep-fried beancurd skin, and applemint leaves. The good thing is that you get an unlimited refill of curry soup. The local coffee there is good too. Just go for the basic kopi, and forget about the fancy Geng Chao Ping.
Right after lunch, we moved on to the nearby Ate Tea Cafe to have tea with KH.

Can't try by yourself. And go during off-peak period.
@Twi:
I'm running out of ideas.
