Bursitis X-Ray

Mum's heel was still hurting regardless of the multiple visits to the orthopaedic specialist at Tung Shin. Decided to try TDMC instead. Waiting times were much better there. The doctor told us that it was bursitis and would not go away so easily. He switched the medication, and recommended mum to undergo shock-wave therapy to clear off the inflammation.

Curry Noodles

With the medical consultation out if the way, we went to get some comfort food at Kuchai Lama. Been wanting to try the curry noodles at Restoran New Lian Hin. We weren't disappointed. The curry was really thick and creamy. As if it wasn't sinful enough, we had the buburchacha too. Another explosion of santan with starchy chunks of yam and sweet potato. Although it was already late, we still made a quick stop at OUG market. Still managed to get some marketing done.

Buburchacha

In the evening, we received a dinner invitation from SK and Bryanisation. Shocked when they said that it was gonna be HaiDiLao. The pair of them actually went to get a number at 4:30 pm. Mum and I braved the ridiculous Sunway Pyramid jam and managed to arrive before 6 PM. It wasn't our turn yet, so we loitered at HDL's waiting lounge. Kill time by having junk food, jelly, popcorn, ice cream, cold drinks, etc. They also encourage you to do mindless things like folding 50 mini origami cranes to redeem free drinks during your meal. You can even make a manicure appointment, all free of charge.

Lounge

When it was finally our turn, we were ushered in to our table. Like Japanese restaurants, we were greeted at every turn. For optimum service standards, each cluster of tables had dedicated service staff. The girl who attended to us provided my mum with s pillow for her back, a hair tie for SK, ziplock bags for our smartphones, and even an offer of aprons in case we were messy eaters. I gave a halfhearted look at the menu and let SK and Bryanisation do all the ordering since both of them were seasoned HDL customers.

4 Soup Base

They chose 4 soup bases~ pork bone, herbal, mala, and my favourite tomato. Access to the condiments counter is charged per head, do we just went for one pax. If you're feeling that your legs are paralyzed, you can even request the server to mix up a bowl of the signature HDL dipping sauce. A mixture of beef cubes, plenty of Chinese parsley, plenty of spring onion, celery granules, Thai chili, crispy soy beans, garlic, peanut, and soy sauce. Most importantly, put in a spoonful of hot soup base. Bryanisation was crazy over the soy products. He loved the fried tofu skin which look like fried carpet rolls, and the tofu skin, which remind me of unrolled tape. I like the sliced pork, and the signature mashed shrimp paste. And one shouldn't at least try the HDL-style noodles once. Some young boy in dri-fit top and track pants will start doing a show for you, flinging a long strand of noodle around. The movements are quite random, but the accompanying music (he had a music player in his pocket) seems to complement the short performance.

Beancurd Skin

The bill came to about nearly MYR400 (Bryanization's treat, THANK YOU!). When we left, the server even gave us some snacks for the road. Don't be shy, just open your mouth. Since we were quite full, we did some aimless wandering around Sunway Pyramid. For Christmas, the managed erected a rotating Nutcracker Tower of Babel, complete with rotor blades on top. Copied from some hidden cache of DaVinci plans perhaps. At the end of the night, we could still stop for a bowl of cendol. Haha. Really out of control.
