Mat Tao Lou
Through mum's connections, she managed to secure two free VIP tickets to Matilda Tao's first concert in Malaysia. Those tickets to “The Golden Age of Matilda Tao Live in Malaysia 2019” cost MYR488. Matilda Tao or better known as Tao Ching-ying is a famous variety show host in Taiwan. The concert marked her twentieth year as a recording artist. The venue was at Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam. My first time there. Horrible place~~ pot-holed parking, and dark, and dirty toilets. The evening rain turned the place into a mini water park. People had jump across puddles to navigate the mini night market outside the stadium. There was a halal and non-halal section, selling all sorts of artery-blocking fried foods (we had a lohmaigai earlier), and concert accessories like light sticks, and glow in the dark hoops.
Getting to our seats was a smooth process, once we knew where our entrance was. Supposedly couldn't bring in water bottles, but their half-hearted bag searches worked to our advantage.
Out of the two dozen songs that she went through, I could only recognize three. The concert was like a family affair with her husband, Li Liren, and her children joining her on stage. Most of the songs were in mandarin, but she also attempted some English songs like "Stand By Me" and Gaga's "Shallow". Being a seasoned host, her short quips in between songs were nearly as entertaining as her singing. Best of all, she treated her fans to a generous encore. All in all, I had a good time, although I'm not a fan of Tao.

Thousands of people at a concert? No social distancing? What's going on? Malaysia isn't practicing any prevention for Corona?
My blog is roughly 5 months late. This happened in November 2019.
All. I'm on a sliding backlog.
