Swimming in the Sky

Apam Balik

Babysitting duty fell to mum and I again because Sis and BIL were busy with an exhibition at PWTC. On Saturday morning, mum and I did a quick run at the OUG morning market. Fell in love with an apam balik stall. The snacks had a 5-star appearance, and the texture was good. Normally, apam balik turn rubbery when cold, but not this one. Some kind of secret ingredient in the batter. My only complaint is that the peanut filling was not as chunky as I would like it.

We packed breakfast for the kids and headed home only to find that the kids already ate wantan noodles for breakfast. At noon, Big Monster had his weekend class at Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, so we spent ninety minutes there waiting for him to finish. Little Monster took a look around and finally settled on Villa Ju Bakery, exclaiming that there's where he normally 'chills'. He even knew exactly what he wanted~ an egg toast. For such a huge floor space, the bakery was quite empty.

According to the kids, they no longer have swimming classes. The last time they swam was in April. My record was way longer. Got the kids packed up and brought them to Sky Residence for a dip. Might as well make use of the facilities, especially the water slide at the kid's pool. The adult pool is big and suitable for laps, plus not many use it at all.

After the swim, we visited the sky decks on the 14th and 24th floors. Effectively, the residents have four unique, well-designed common spaces for activities. Each have a different theme (children's theme too), with comfortable furniture. One could just laze there, read a book, and enjoy the view.

SK organized a Korean dinner that night. She fetched all of us to Atria Shopping Gallery, where we met Lifebook and Bless at Moim. I was a bit apprehensive as the kids don't have much experience with Korean food and they are not adventurous in terms of food. Big Monster was quite gung ho opting for the super spicy chicken ramyun rated with 5 chilies. His little brother ordered ramyun as well, but the milder version with 2 chilies. Although Big Monster struggled with the spiciness, he persevered and finished the whole plate. On the other hand, Little Monster gave up halfway and had white rice instead.

I ordered the japchae, but I didn't quite like it. The trio pancake platter (pork, kimchi, and zucchini) recommended by the owner was good. Another recommended dish is the flat noodles in soup. Love the hot soup. The rolled omelette is also good, and a bit different from tamagoyaki because it contains scallions.
