Durian Double Date

Flower Blocks

By special request, SK requested that her birthday be celebrated on Valentine's Day. Although it was a work day, we also managed to get Apollo and QueerRanter-D to memeriahkan majlis. Like a double date, and SK was the fifth wheel! The venue she chose was Cerdito at Puchong Jaya. KH and I arrived much earlier than scheduled, so we we had our very own VDay thing at Nasi Lemak Factory. Shared a sampling size bowl of wantan noodles with pork curry. The noodles are thin and wet, very Hong Kong style, and the curry was quite spicy. Expensive in my opinion, and nothing to shout about. We even had time to have a scoop of rum and raisin ice cream. Kinda strong. And I really like the interior decoration using flower-themed sand blocks.

When it was time for dinner, there was a bit of confusion whether they would let us order from the ala carte menu or not. SK had earlier called in and given the green light, but then then the waitress informed us that only the Valentine's menu was available. At last, the owner came out from the kitchen to clear things up. We proceed with our dinner booking. Quite a number of couples were eating there that night, and there was even a daddy with his twink. Do try the sausage platter and iberico there.

Once it was time for dessert, SK asked for her birthday cake to be taken out. That homemade cake really ruffled feathers as it was a durian cream cake (her ex-colleague baked it for her)! For some reason, common reasoning escaped us about eating a pungent durian cake in an enclosed, air-conditioned restaurant. Lol. It was definitely a VDay to remember for all the couples.

Durian Cake

Yumcha was next on our list, but we didn't have to go far. Fu Wah, a HK style charchanteng was just across the road. Too bad their baked charsiew bun was sold out (can't believe I still wanted to eat that after a meaty dinner). So we had our yinyong, and camwhored like crazy, trying to recreate old group photos from the past.
