"BERSIH 2.0 is stupid. You happy now that KL is locked down? Annoying. Irritating. My shopping plans are now ruined!"
There are people who say that they have no business with politics and politics has no business with them. To them, nothing can be done to make things better. They think they are above it all. Just because they are content with their own inaction, they condemn those who support the cause or at least help to propagate the idea. And when things go down the crapper, they think they have sanctuary elsewhere.
In my opinion, these are not fence-sitters, but rather the fence. As the Chinese proverb goes, "unless the needle pokes into your own flesh, you won't feel the pain". Let's hope that when the day comes, the needle won't be too big!
Chaz Zye, Tulai and Grat who are currently marching in KL, keep safe and keep dry!
And for EarlGrey who is preparing for his charity concert tonight (an unfortunate clash), all the best. Truly a supporter of the cause with not a single complaint from your lips.

Who should be blamed in this case?
@medie: yes, the coalition for fair elections. But like it or not, elections are between political parties. It's still politics. It's not like we are bishops voting for a Pope.

Yes, peaceful demonstration is one way to voice the people's concerns, and perhaps warranted. But at what cost? Inciting chaos among the public?
For all the good that Bersih did to raise awareness in our election system, there's now a good deal of hatred and strife between the people and government and authorities.
I'm just not convinced that more good came out of this rally than the bad. Apparently, there is a report of a death already. Hope everyone else is safe.
It's impossible for a BN politician to join. The whip will be cracked. And I don't think they will sacrifice everything for BERSIH.
@TBoy:
:O :D
@Deicidal:
I feel there is no point having a "feel good" situation with the authorities when
1) people can "commit suicide" in the care of the MACC and CCTV footage go missing due to "an act of God"
2) people can't even determine what to call their God
3) The swiftness of police action depends on which side you are on
4) The law is applied differently depending on which side you are on
5) The media has nothing bad to say about the Government of the day
6) Open verdicts from the coroner's court is the norm
7) "Muhibah" is just lip service
As for the EC, I can only tell what I saw first hand in GE12-- at my polling station (an opposition stronghold), the EC staff just stand by and not help the elderly and disabled. And when voting stopped, they refused to allow counting to start until we complained to the EC HQ. Apalah...
Although the Government is doing good in other departments, I'm sure, but the way these issues are handled really point to a serious rot in the system. If they don't even wanna admit to the rot, what remedial action can take place?
