Can a doctor or pharmacist explain to me why flu medication like Clarinase and Zyrtec-D affect urine flow? Anyone else with the same side-effect?

that is a new side-effect. both are antihistamines therefore wouldn't act on the urinary system

ask ur pharmacist kawanz! :P they know best.

but "Drugs such as over-the-counter antihistamines and nasal decongestants can increase resistance to the flow of urine or reduce the bladder's ability to contract, causing temporary blockage of urine flow out of the bladder in men with Benign prostatic Hyperplasia." you're too young for BPH! :P

Interesting but not common! How did it affect your urine flow? Decrease or increase? I think it might act on the bladder receptors (mostly for first generation antihistamines like Zyrtec) causing urinary retention. Rest assured, antihistamines effects are reversible and stops when you stop taking them.

@LittleD:
Yup, like there's some resistance. Yeah, it did go away when I stopped it. :)
