Escapade to Excapade

Hotel -> Makan -> Bus!
The most famous Japanese cuisine chain in BSB is undoubtedly "Excapade Sushi". Why? It's the only one I know of. Hahaha. Anyway, ventured out to Gadong on a lazy Sunday to try it. The four walls of our room were starting to feel very stifling. My roommate and I walked out and tried waiting for the bus. We chatted. Skirted the red ants that had colonized the road shoulder. And waited. And waited. And waited. After fifteen minutes, we caught sight of the company car! With the project manager back in Malaysia, several colleagues had commandeered the Innova. They were going for a jam session. Erm. Okay. Whatever. They dropped us off at the place and we quickly headed upstairs to the restaurant. Quite a good crowd inside. Mostly Chinese. Sat down and looked at their menu. A good selection. Ended up ordering the salmon sashimi (BND15 for 250gm, thick slices, but not exceptionally sweet), butteryaki beef slices with asparagus (the meat was rough and overdone!), saba shioyaki and a Phoenix Roll. The roll came at the end, and it was super big... nearly vomitted looking at the rice. (my mouth's pretty big and can take large cocks items, but I couldn't down the roll in one bite) The prawn meat was padded with bread and cheese and it was served in the shape of a cross, granished with deep-fried kale and nestum! Weirdness. The bill came to BND39.

Needing to walk off that meal, we headed to The Mall. More crowded that when I was last there. Went down to the department store because my colleague wanted to buy Rosken Skin Repair. Just BND4.99. Half the price compared to Malaysia! He also nearly bought some Avene lip balm. (he's straight?!) Walked around for a while, then decided to leave. No cuties around anyway. The kids had a lala factor of 7.0, much higher than my tolerance level. Tried to find the bus stop. Asked the people at Centerpoint Hotel, but the staff weren't helpful at all. At last we saw the bus and we ran for it! Like those mini buses of old and the conductor had to manually operate the door. Cute. Had a tough time telling the conductor where we wanted to go. All the road names and landmarks that we threw out just drew a puzzling loo. We took a gamble anyway. The conductor must be thinking what idiots these migrant workers are, not even knowing where they stay. Reached the hotel by 3:00pm. Back to being a couch potato...
