Bloodsucker Update

Here's an update on the MYR50 credit card tax that comes into enforcement this year.

For existing cards:

Citibank charges the tax on the approval anniversary of your card.

HSBC charges the tax one month after the annual fees of your card.

For new cards:

The tax is immediately charged to your card.

Please do cancel all your excess cards and leave only the critical cards. Once the tax is charged, no bank will waive it for you. You'll have to pay or use your rewards points. Please act before you are charged.

Sigh... i think its bad to tax people for their credit cards. i personally think credit cards are a great alternative to carrying alot of money and walking around... u never know when someone will rob you off your cash.

I don't even have a Diners to cut. Hahah! Surprisingly, my parents haven't mentioned anything about cutting cards...yet. I'm sure they'd warn me to not use them if they had any cancelled =S

@Lucas:
Exactly!

@Evann:
Means they'll pay the tax lo. A sub card costs MYR25.

@Marcus:
Banks will not waive it. You'll have to pay it.
