Indonesian Horror
While looking for episodes of "Dendam Nyipelet" on YouTube the other day (which I did not find, :(), I rediscovered the wonders of Indonesian horror movies from the 70s. Total classics! After going through several, I spotted some similarities.
- The recurring face of a certain actress... I can't get her name as there are no credits, but it's kinda like seeing Brigitte Lin appear over and over again in wuxia movies during the 90s.
- Buxom women in overflowing bustiers. Must be all the coconut milk they ingest. :P.
- Cheesy sex scenes. The director cleverly used mating toads to denote sex. :P
- Creative ways of getting killed. I even saw one movie that borrowed heavily on "Nightmare on Elm Street". LOL.
- Interesting folk magic and characters. Super cool.
- Storylines involving adultery, revenge, murder and greed. There's always a moral to the story.
- "Penangkal Ilmu Teluh" - infidelity becomes the trigger of a big black magic war between lovers.
- "Ajian Ratu Laut Kidul" - A story of revenge with the help of the legendary Sea Queen.
- "Buaya Putih" - A story of crocodile legends.
- "Nyi Ageng - Ratu Pemikat" - Forbidden love between a human and a spirit.
- "Perkahwinan Nyi Blorong" - Marriage to the legendary snake demon will grant a person riches, but with a price...
- "Perjanjian di Malam Keramat" - A story of a vengeful ghost.

LOL. And the tools look like they belong with a carpenter!
@Famil:
The woman doing the 'face lift'? Thanks for the info! But actially, I was referring to the actress from "Ajian Ratu Laut Kidul". Hehe.
I would rather term it as entertaining. :P
@Anon:
Thanks. Think you're referring to the same person as Famil was.
@L2:
