Kitchen Pet Peeves
"I'm filling the water jug, please see whether it's full already."
"The kettle's on the stove. See whether the water's boiled."
"Go stir the porridge."
I hate to be the one being left with those jobs. Although it my actually seem like just going in and taking it look, it actually means that the job was started by someone else, but you have to follow through till the end. Ugh. Essentially, it means that you better just stare at the thing until it gets done rather than walking in and out. :(.

Stirring that kaya pot when i wuz little wuz a memorable experience, esp since i had so many chances to slap lotsa butter and freshly-made kaya on my toast thereafter. ^^
At my house... (these days) it's always bario rice with pumpkin.

It tastes better with an open flame! Ages since I had any homemade kaya! And "kai tan kou". Beating the batter..... whack whack whack
electric kettles makes it much2 easier...

Boiling water is hardly something we do often. Perhaps just for tea, milo and soup.
