Crippled in the Office

Sigh, I'm without my laptop now. When I signed the asset possession form at the office, I filled in a remark that the laptop had a defect when I received it (a dent at the corner, definitely from physical impact-- macam Kancil sendol punggung Wira). So, the admin staff had a cow. Complained that I should've reported the matter earlier (the laptop was used in a previous training session and wasn't assigned to me after that, so I didn't care), insinuated that I may have damaged it, blah, blah, blah. The whole tai chi scenario. Anyways, they grudgingly took it back for a replacement. And you know what? It will take a week. Woo hoo. If they don't get me a decent workstation soon, tak yah kerjalah

well.. ever pondered on the advantages / disadvantages of a laptop? Firstly, you're excited that you're handed something so mobile and impressive.. and yetwhen you think of it, you have to shoulder the responsibility of lugging it around..and then wodnering is your car will be broken into just to save that rectangle metalpiece...and then the the fact that you have to be ready to work from home.... hmmm...:)./ celaka betul mel nie.. heheh

I wonder what you're doing at work since your lapttopless for the next few days. When that happened to me, I used my phone to go online. =P Pathetic, eh?

@Mel:
Nah, never pondered. But no choice. I've been assigned one so that I can work from anywhere. Yuck. Yes, it is a chore lugging it around. I used to get a sore shoulder. But this one's lighter and I finally got a more posture-friendly bag. First rule: NEVER leave a laptop in the car, or your handphone for any matter. Or even small change...

@Clarence:
Even though you may haved removed the comment, I know what you wrote. My blog is not exactly spotless, so I'll make a remark anyway. My colleague has taught me to keep porn and surf porn in a virtual image (Miscrosoft Virtual PC). Ah, the wonders of technology.

A new picture. Is that you?! So different.

I'll call the company secretary this morning to find out. In the meantime, I have to stick to using the bulky server. Anyways, back to back meetings today (UGH), so no need to use the PC.

You have EDGE / 3G?! Kewl.

Yes, that's me trying to be sensual-looking. Ok, you can stop gagging now and pick yourself up from the floor. ROFLMAO.

Using server to surf? Man, that's so risky... I've got bad experiences with hardware. Each time a customer's server is problematic, they kept blaming it on the solution that wrecked it. *yanks hair out* GRRR!!!

No lah. I where got so canggih use 3G phones. I use WM5 phones that have wi-fi. Office has wi-fi mah... =P Besides, it's free!!! ;-)

Don't be so humble lar. You look GREAT! Macam dah putih. A hair advert.

Don't worry Venge, not a production server, a local dev server. But the paranoid security policy of ie in w2k3 server really pisses me off. I just blame Microsoft. :P

I used to be able to steal wifi. Now with my laptop gone... sniff, sniff...

@Alex: It's difficult going cold turkey.

@Venge: Aku dah balik! Tapi sementara je. Harap2 dapatlah laptop aku hari ini. Dah seminggu. Celaka... Terima kasih kerana kangen deh gue... Hehe.
