The One

Sunday didn't quite turn out like I expected it. Went to early mass with SK and went to have breakfast at Chow Yang. Thought of Yu Ai's seafood noodles, but they actually don't open in the morning, so we ate at Super Kitchen instead. Immediately rushed home to work. Did a short accounting of the outstanding items and found around ninety even after I spent three hours revising the proposal. Due to the gummy weather, I worked in the nude. Can scratch that off my bucket list. I sent out my second draft and told myself in Cartman's voice, "Screw you guys, I'm going out for lunch". Of course I get dressed before heading out to a neighbourhood shop for some chicken rice. Disappointing to say the least. Hardly any meat at all for MYR5.80. Its definitely on my blacklist now. SK scheduled a Japping session at Senjyu in BVII with KH, #BF, Brian and Lifebook. Guess Bangsar is on the terrorist alert list with armed military men patrolling the night market ( n

Fairies Watching Fairies

Image
Mum was still away on her cruise so I need not venture into the chaos at the OUG wet market on a Saturday morning. Took my sweet time having a bowl of pork ball noodles at Restoran Yoong Seng . Remembering that my bathroom tap was leaking, I headed to SuperSave to get an Allen key. Thought of getting one, but I left with a set of twenty! Back home, I attempted to disassemble the tap but failed. Couldn't get the top off. Must the years of accumulated grime and metallurgical reaction. Gave up and got dressed to go watch Shakespeare at PJ Live Arts ( had a short lunch of soupy rice with fish at Go Noodle House -- recommended! ). KH had bought tickets to "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by the Handlebards . The Handlebards is a troupe made up of four guys who go around cycling from venue to venue playing famous works from Shakespeare. It was their first tour outside of the UK. With only four of them, they frequently rely on audience members to make up the numbers and o

Paktor and Parlour

Image
Took a day off to paktor with KH. We started our morning with a dim sum breakfast at  Tian Xin , Equine Park. Took our sweet time sipping our kopi c  before driving over to IOI City Mall. Slowly roamed the mall before stopping for food again at Franco . Not that we like the food there that much, but KH bought a Groupon voucher. But to be honest, I like their green tea latte although I generally hate that beverage. With KH, it wouldn't be a date if we did not watch a movie. The movie of choice was  "London Has Fallen"  with Gerald Butler. So much different from his performance in "Gods of Egypt". Heh. Then it was coffee at Piccolo Cafe and finally dinner at Zen & Co .  Not often that we can spend the whole day together, makan-makan, minum-minum . Better yet if we could end the day in bed. Hehe. However, that was not to be. Received a call that my mum's cousin had passed away. I've met him twice during the occasion of his daughter

Home Shopping Network: Washtub Cleaner

Image
Ever wondered how clean your washing machine is? The stainless steel drum may look shiny and unblemished, but how does it look at the places that don't see the light of day? Do you sometimes catch the scent of something wet and moldy from your washing machine? Discussed this with SK over dinner and she told me that her colleague was selling a washtub cleaner from Japan that cost MYR40 per treatment. Yikes. Since it was just an experiment, SK and I opted for the Daiso option at just MYR5.30. And that was for a box containing three packets. The powder supposedly cleans, deodorizes and disinfects with the use of enzymes and such.  The instructions were easy to follow: Fill up the tub with clean water. Pour in the powder. Run the wash cycle for 3 minutes ( bubbled up like an ice cream sundae! ). Let it soak for 3-6 hours.  Run the full wash cycle. Pretty easy right? Can do it overnight. At the end of the wash cycle, I removed the lint trap and was shocked to find

Lunch Alone, Dinner Together

Image
Mum was still away so I went to church alone. Found lunch at Le Pont , but parking there wasn't as easy to find. Forked out RM5 to park at the multi-level car park. Expensive. All the available car parks had been conquered by the Elken staff. Tried another signature item from their menu, i.e. braised lamb shank. Huge portion of tender meat. Felt a little guilty downing so much red meat. Paired that with a cup of La Loma, their newest offering of single origins coffee. The coffee came with an information card and some ground coffee for me to sniff. Since I was all by myself and there was no eye candy, I didn't linger. Back home, I took down all the CNY decorations and lazed the afternoon away. In the evening, went over to MaisonSK for dinner again. However, we had a guest of honour that night-- Sharky. With him around, SK didn't need to worry about leftovers. Seriously, that boy can eat! As expected, the fella was a bit shy around the gang. Based on his observations, h

A Date with Money

Image
Volunteer work as a form of dating-- guess I can scratch that off my bucket list now. KH likes to join his company's corporate social responsibility activities and when he found out that they lacked volunteers, he roped me in. I was supposed to teach standard 4 and 5 kids about money. We arrived at Sekolah Rendah Subang Jaya at 9:00 AM. A strange feeling walking into a primary school with all the kids around. Normally its five years once to vote. LOL. All the kids were huddled into the hall together with the volunteers. More volunteers turned up and less kids attended. So my help wasn't really needed. Started off with a short briefing and the kids were split into eight groups of six. KH and I got to know our kids ( super hipster names these days ) and we distributed the breakfast packs-- bottled water, a vegetable samosa and a stunted doughnut. When I looked at the training material from Junior Achievement, I doubted that the kids would get it. The "JA More Than Mone

Pyjamas Party

Image
Ever since mum went off to Melbourne for her cruise, I had been left to my own devices. Been able to have some short dinner dates with KH after work. Sometimes at Hong Ngek (they fry up a killer pak ko ), sometimes at Soong Kee . At other times, SK would be the one doing the cooking. On a Friday, KH found an excuse to have a sleep over at my place. Dinner for us was a bunch of  sushi and maki from Isetan Food Market in KLCC. Cold food in the tummy is definitely a weird feeling. The sleep over was a pyjamas party of sorts. Obviously my definition of pyjamas is au naturel . Missed sleeping beside my darling KH, feeling the touch of his skin and his lips on mine. Unfortunately, the oven-like nature of the weather made us sweat like pigs. And that was without the exertion of sex. We didn't drag our session late into the night because we had something planned early in the morning. Stay tuned!

Birthday & Beauties

Image
Note: I'm back from my two week trip! If you didn't notice, please carry on. LOL. Second round of SK's birthday was celebrated at Manmaru Robatayaki & Bar , Atria Shopping Gallery. What's the difference with the celebration at Marini's you may ask? The guest list actually.  A slight tweak-- mum, Lifebook and her colleague from Penang. Made the mistake of booking via TableApp.com. When I arrived, they told me I had no booking. Thank goodness their business ain't that great, so we managed to secure a table anyway. But if they had actually checked the website, we might have gotten the white lantern room . All of us arrived earlier than planned with the exception of KH who took pains to arrive on the dot. I waited for him before ordering since we would be sharing but he wasn't too interested in the process. Grrrr. Ordered the fusion sashimi moriawase , but truthfully I wasn't sure what was fusion about it. Repeated some orders but tried some new item
