Lapse I

Image
There seems to be a lapse in my note-taking. Comparing my notes and pictures, there seems to be a gap of a couple of weeks that I did not write about. Gosh. And you know how bad my memory is. Worse of all, I'm a bit anal about skipping those events! So I'll just give a short write up based on the pics. Wakakaka. For brekafast, I had a plate of stir-fried spaghetti. No idea where though cause the photos geo-location refused to load on Picasa. Doesn't matter I guess because I remember that it wasn't very good. A tad on the sweet and oily side. But the presentation's very interesting. How often does one see pasta on a banana leaf? For lunch, SK, KH, Apollo and I ventured to Jalan Telawi. Tried a brunch place called Yeast Boulangerie . Had to wait to be seated and I must say that it wasn't really worth the wait. Taste and looks so-so jer . Tapi memang ada angmoh kerja sana . For tea, we tried out Doors Cafe at Taman OUG. Found at one of the lesser known r

Wai No Battery?

According to my HR portal, I have fourteen days of annual leave to clear, so I came home on Thursday, one day earlier than usual. Immediately did my laundry and went to sleep after hanging up the last piece of underwear. The next morning, I went to warm up my Iswara. The engine sputtered and the alarm went off. Another two unsuccessful attempts later, I made a SOS call to my mechanic. I had forty minutes or so before he came. Feeling hungry as heck ( I was supposed to go tapau wantan noodles!!! ), I had to dig out my instant noodles stash. Decided on Nissin's Kyushu Black instant ramen. Topped it with a fried egg. Not bad at all. Was eating halfway when my mechanic arrived. When he turned the key, the car actually started up! WTF. The engine must have been too cold and the battery a little weak. Coincidentally, a neighbour of mine was also experiencing car problems, so it wasn't a wasted journey. I went back in to finish my breakfast. Not too long after that, I received a cal

Suddenly Singapore II: Meeting Kenni & Hawker Food Fest

Image
Singapore has been a monotonous experience. Wake up at 7:15 am, check my phone, do some squats, crunches or push ups if I feel up to it, freshen up, get dressed and go down for breakfast. Breakfast is also monotonous. Eggs, garden salad, noodles, porridge. Can only vary it so much. But at least its free. LOL. At 8:45 am would walk to Bugis MRT and alight three stations later at Tanjug Pagar to get to my office. Lunch would normally be at Laupasat because compared to Amoy Food Centre, it's easier to get seats for a big group. Although more expensive, one can get discount by using the Kopitiam Prepaid Card. But on some days, we would venture to Amoy Food Centre to try the famous stalls there. Easy to spot, just look for the long queues. In addition to better tasting food, these stalls owe their popularity to their cheap prices. My colleague coaxed me to try the famous fish soup from Han Kee . Came out at 11:45 am to beat the crowds, but that was a myth. Still took me 25 minutes t

The Run That Wasn't A Run

Got up at 6:00 am on Sunday morning to attend the Allianz Pacer Runfie. Mum, SK, KH and I had registered to go. Just needed to pay MYR30 per person to join for the 5km fun run at Taman Bukit Jalil. SK picked us up at 6:30 am and we were at the meeting point in fifteen minutes. Plenty of parking was available and the warm up exercises had already started. Strangely, KH had not arrived. A few minutes later, he told me that he had arrived. I asked where he was and he said at a place with tents. Hmmm. No further information was forthcoming. Even after they flagged off, I did not see KH. I called him again. Turns out that he was at the wrong entrance. Funny that he got it wrong although I gave him the information the night before. Even stranger was the fact that the lack of people did not alarm him. Waited for him for ten minutes to walk over from the other end of the park. We ended up at the back of the pack. Nagged him for a good five minutes. Not easy being someone's hubby. :P. We

As my regular readers would know, the stuff I post on my blog is as fresh as a two month old loaf of Massimo left on the kitchen counter. Simply put, this is a weBlog with a Backlog. A blog blog. A true blog. Haha. Anyway, I'm gonna fast-forward for a special occasion-- KH and I's 8th anniversary together! On our 8th year, he didn't write me card. He didn't record me a video message. He didn't send me a telegram. He didn't send me flowers. He didn't get a tattoo with my name on it. He didn't give me a diamond ring. He didn't write me a back cheque. What he did was, he wrote me a GSC confession. LOL. And it was posted on the 28th of January, the date it all started ( with some help from the Admin ). Truth be told, I missed his confession. When I scanned through the first few sentences, it only scored 1.25 on my Skanky Scale. I got a mini scolding for that. Anyway, here's what he wrote: Love you dear. Happy Anni!  Muacks.  Muacks

Morning Shower, Baby Shower

Image
On the Saturday that I was back from Singapore, it was raining very heavily. The sound of the sheets of rain pommeling the roof tiles outside my window actually woke me up. Opened one eye, buried myself deeper into my sheets and continued to sleep. But not long after, my alarm sounded and I needed to get ready to go out to the market. Luckily by 8:00 am, the heavy rain had let up and slowed to a drizzle. Due to the early downpour, the usual crowd at the market was missing. Some stalls were not even open, fearing that the rain might spoil their wares. That made our job easier with no crowds to navigate around. Got what we needed and proceeded to breakfast and got home a ittle earlier than usual. We were scheduled to collect the Allianz Pacer Runfie ( so unlike me right? ) race pack in the afternoon, so mum made an early lunch of soupy rice vermicelli was fish slices, chicken and fried egg. Totally delicious. Went out, picked SK and KH to Mont Kiara. So funny that during the online

Suneo in Singapore: Dinner Drama

Image
During my second work trip to Singapore, I managed to meet up with more friends. In other words, I managed to get more free meals. Cool, right? Especially when the exchange rate is 2.55. Really makes your eyes pop out. AlexanderTheGay of the Jaylex Foundation came to meet just the day after he touched down from Jakarta. He said he was tired, but he looked good to me. Polished, but definitely thinner. Once again, KH suggested the dinner venue, which was Poulet at Bugis+. French food, but I was pointed to the signature item on the menu-- Poulet Rôti. Roast chicken la, LOL, but in a plate of mushroom Chardonnay sauce. So it looked like a headless tanned hunk on a bed of cum ( sounds familiar? ). It was quite good really. Was actually a couple of years since I actually talked face to face with AlexanderTheGay. We updated each other on happenings, filling in the blanks. One by one we went through the list of BFF and I gave my report on each of them. Post-dinner, we went for gelato downst

Airport Celebrities: Transit Tom

Image
Gosh, look at the time! I've neglected my blog again. Rainy Day reminded me that I need to post Transit Tom from Chek Lap Kok Aiport. I gravitated towards his arms like tudung -clad girl to a K-pop boy band member! Sat next to him and fired up my Nexus 5! Love the proximity. And he has such a hunky jaw line with good, tanned skin. Yummy! Hope to get back to my regular posts soon. They are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy overdue!

Canadian Celebrities: Leftovers!

Image
Hi guys and gals! It's been such a gruelling task putting together the fourteen posts of my Great Canadian Adventure that I forgot to include some of my spy cam shots. It's not easy managing all the photos and folders. Better post them before I forget again! And at least while it's still 'relevant'. LOL. I have a trio of guys for you today. The first is Unhappy Harold . Spotted him crossing Main Street with his girlfriend. From my shot, he doesn't look too happy. Bored with his girlfriend perhaps. Should try swinging the other way. Might put a smile on his face! Secondly is DILF Donald . Spotted this hot daddy shopping designer clothes with his toddler at The Bay, Vancouver Island. From afar I his tanned biceps called to me. Looks all hunky and stylish. I'm sure many would call him Daddy! Lastly is Smiley Sam from Sears at Metrotown. He was late for some Toastmasters function and was asking for help. Although he was late, he kept on smiling, flashin
