Samurai Solstice

Ronin , swiped from williamnyk on Flickr. On Friday, I met KH for a lunch date at Menya Musashi on Jalan P. Ramlee. Always wanted to try it as their staff seem so pumped up. Must be high on some kind of samurai weed. Manned partly by Japanese and Pinoys. An interesting mix of nationalities. Seeing something different on their menu, I immediately went for their Kanzan Tsukemen , basically a dipping style ramen . Like a soba , but the soup is much thicker, kinda like a concentrated gravy. Found it very flavourful and too salty even for my Cantonese taste buds. And good news for the big eaters, one can order up to 2.5 times the usual noodle portion for free. I tried 1.5 and couldn't finish it. On the other hand, KH ordered the Kanzan Ramen . FYI, the noodles were different from mine. Much thinner than the tsukemen and not as hard. And KH also chose the fish stock option. Amazingly a spoonful of granules can infuse such a strong aroma of fish, but not in an overpoweringly fishy w

The Cows of Christmas

Image
Golden , swiped from williamnyk on Flickr. Sunday was quite busy. Went to church and had lunch with mum. At 3:00pm, sent mum and my nephew to the 1Malaysia Muhibbah Christmas Party at Vivatel. Fronted by Breath of God Church but obviously with government backing. In case you can't guess, that's the hotel at Viva Home. Quite a horrible time getting there because for Besraya was jammed for no good reason and we were stuck in Serdang old town for half an hour before managing to make a detour. Thank goodness for Waze! Saved us more heartache and mental stress. But still, it was a little too late as SK already developed a headache. The stupid hotel is located just before Viva Home, at the back of the building. Right beside the loading bays. Classy. And you can't drive through the lobby. You have to U-turn out as there is still some construction going on. WTF right? When I arrived, a heavily-tinted Alphard was behind us. A VVIP no doubt. As I struggled to escape the lobby, seven

LRT Celebrities: Mole Mike

Image
Frown , swiped from williamnyk on Flickr. Hi guys and gals. Been some time since I had an offering for my LRT Celebrities segment. Truth be told, it has been a bit dry on the LRT of late. Today I present you with Mole Mike ( suddenly I'm thinking about the mole jokes from Austin Powers ), the first LRT Celebrity of 2013! Has a very macho, angular Cina-ness to him and look at the veins on his left arm. I'm a sucker for toned arms. Too bad I couldn't get a better angle of him. Quite a challenge when he's standing smack dab in front of me. I have lots of headless pics of him if you're interested. LOL. Hope 2013 has been kind to all of you so far. Muacks.

Under One Roof

Bear , swiped from williamnyk on Flickr. A success story among the BFF seem to be Janvier and The Chief. They have made to sleeping under their own roof with seeming approval ( or lack of disapproval ) from their parents. A natural progression I guess, but not an easy task. I salute them. On Saturday night, SK, KH and I ( our first appearance as a couple after KH's return ) ventured to Setia Alam for their housewarming cum Christmas party. Basically three main groups-- The Chief's family, Janvier's boardgame kakis and the BFF. Food was exceptionally curry. Pre-packed nasi lemak with double curry chicken, roast turkey with cranberry sauce and assorted Malay kuih . The turnout was quite good, where one could even categorize it as a BFF reunion. Surprise guests AlexanderTheGay and CarpeDiem. Been ages since I saw them. And DanielH came sporting a half-done, still bloody tattoo covered under shrink wrap. A cool design of a cross surrounded by roses. Legolas was dressed in

Cleaning

Image
Cleaning , swiped from Janeczka Dabrowski on Flickr. Once again, SK and I had to show face and get involved in some church activity that required BEC representation. Thirty families and not a single volunteer. Oh well. Before arriving, we took our sweet time having breakfast at our neighbourhood kopitiam . Upon arrival, we looked for the coordinator and he pointed us to the duty roster. We were supposed to clean the cobwebs inside and outside of the church. No specific tools given, just two brooms. Too bad I did not bring a face mask. Ugh. Even before starting, SK had been sneezing. Poor thing. Started at the entrance and moved to the side of the church. The air curtain and the air-conditioning vents were a sure spot for concentrated dust bunnies. And now this is where the fun part starts. Any person with half a brain would tell you that you're supposed to work from top to bottom cause dust and dirt will collect on the floor. No idiot would clean the floor first before doing the o

Mail Order Hunk

Some weeks back, I got a message from a FB friend whom I had not met before. He said that he wanted to send me a Christmas present. Very random right? After some digging, it turns out it was his first time doing it. A random act of giving. Cool right? But I wonder why me? LOL. Cause I was a bad boy? I'm not one stare a gift horse in the mouth LOL. So after patiently waiting for some time, I finally received a large envelope with a warning: "Photos Inside. Do not bend." Wah! Are they photos of me in compromising situations? Blackmail photos! LOL. Tore open the envelope to find a bubble wrap. After removing that, I found another layer of plastic protection. Inside was an envelope made out of wrapping paper. By Jove, it was skanky pictures. But not of me la. It was a 2013 DailyJocks calendar by Russel Fleming! Thanks JamesL! I like it. Who wouldn't like hunks in underwear and swimwear? My favourite is Mr. October ( bottom row, third guy from the right ). My birth

Mountain Out Of A Molehill

Drawing Gears... , swiped from Heartlover1717 on Flickr. I'm definitely kinda stuck in LDR mode. Every time I meet KH, I seem to kinda blow my top. When I told this to QueerRanter, he was kinda shocked that I actually have a temper. Of course I do. Lurking behind my Cheshire Cat grin is a cauldron of boiling cum. Wakaka. Back to the issue of KH. For some reason, I get irked with KH for small, small reasons. Something he says. Something he does. All might push my buttons, spoiling the mood a bit. Think I'm being a bit unreasonable or impatient. Or I'm having unrealistic expectations. Although KH has the temperament of saint ( and I forget about things pretty quick ), I don't think I should test his limits. Gotta learn to a bit more tidak apa . Don't want trivial matters to become a big problem. "Tai si fah siew; Siew si fah mou!" In conclusion, I need to get my relationship gears lubricated and move into the next step!
