Chilly Qingdao I: Enter the Dragon

Image
Work gave me a chance to visit China in mid-April. It was my maiden trip to the 'motherland'. Never had I considered travelling to China on personal trips. Due to a recent investment my group chairman made in a Chinese IT company, my company was roped into some engagement activities. So for a whole week before the trip, I had to compile pre-sales materials, and some of my colleagues had to help out with the translation. Truth be told, it was practically useless for me to be in an IT product conference in China since I could not read nor write, much less do a presentation in putonghua . And yet, I was flying there with my GM to be a 'unqualified vase'. LOL. And at the last minute another colleague actually pulled out with a doctor's letter claiming sinus problems. Alamak . Regardless, I proceeded with the flight tickets and visa. Two other colleagues would be flying from Singapore. My ticketing department got us 'great' tickets from Cathay Dragon where ...

Spiderman x Guitar

Image
Mum and I returned to the OUG morning market after a short 'holiday'. My fave noodle stall was really on a holiday, so I had curry noodles instead. So thick and satisfying. What was left in the bowl was like chili paste! Also got my Teochew Kuih fix. Mum got her hair done, and great timing too because Cutiepie invited us to a party that evening. It was her darling daughter's birthday. A small affair with a couple of friends and family. Sis and the kids were also invited. Food was catered from a contact on a FB mummies group, a place where entrepreneurial housewives can make an extra buck advertising their services. Big Monster loved the Indian food so much that he had three servings. The birthday girl was kinda moody that night, but she lit up when the time came to cut her cake. Never in my life had I seen a Spiderman guitar cake. Definitely something that everyone needs to see at least once in their life.

Surprising SkyHaus

Image
Some Sundays, I just make a random look on Google Maps to determine where mum and I should eat after Sunday mass. Found SkyHaus Café just behind my church, nestled within a residential area. Rare to see a café with a rating of 4.5. And the fact that it was a vegetarian joint didn't deter me from trying it. Business was good on a Sunday afternoon although the area was pretty dead. The café had plenty of natural light and tables were arranged around a central work area for the barista and cashier ( which happened to be all young boys ). Most of the food on the menu was western, but there were also a few Asian items. The waiter recommended the fettucine carbonara, and I chose the siphon signature coffee to go with it. The carbonara sauce was pretty thick, and the pasta had a great texture. Even the vegetarian ham looked like real meat. LOL. The coffee was also great, it suit my palette. Smooth, and none of the sourness that I dislike. If you're buddy buddy with the barista,...

Catching Up With Cousins

Image
Ever since KH embarked on his career as a NuProfessional, I no longer have Friday dates with him. After work, I would take the train home and have dinner with The Tribe. By the time I get home and shower, it would usually be 9:00 PM. Right after I did my quick 2-minute LumiSpa cleansing routine, I suddenly received a FB message from my Bagan Sungai Burong cousin, Hunter. Not something that happens often. Hunter: Hi. I'm at Pudu Raya now. Moi: Alone? Hunter: Yes. Moi: Where are you staying tonight? Hunter: No where. Moi: I'll be there in 30 minutes! Turns out, he had arrived an hour ago, but failed to get anyone to pick him up. Poor fella. He had just arrived from Singapore, after a routine follow-up for a heart valve surgery that he underwent in 1995. Mum persuaded him to stay at our place since we had prepared a room, and a spare change of clothes. Not long after Hunter had freshened up, my other cousin who lives in Puchong finally returned his call. Together we wen...

Easter Vigil Break Fast

Image
As luck would have it, KH and I had Saturday morning to ourselves. He did not have any appointments and mum was out of the house for a meeting. First thing we did was have breakfast at Restoran Rumah Asap Tan 16 at Equine Park. Shared a plate of Mee Kolok, but it was kinda lousy that day. Hate it when the noodles are soggy and clump together. Right after breakfast, I had another 'break fast' session. Post-Lent shagging! The sex is always great after a long drought. Sweated it out. Yelled it out. Spurted it all out. We were so hungry after, so decided to go for an early lunch. Thought to go for Nasi Lemak Champion, but it was closed. Next best thing was to try Rumah Makan Lesehan at Kinrara Uptown. The place was barely a week into business, but I had already read some favourable reviews on my neighbourhood FB group. In Javanese, "lesehan" means to sit cross-legged on the floor, so there aren't any chairs in the restaurant, just low tables. Customers tak...

Hot Cross Buns 2018

Image
Following Maundy Thursday was Good Friday, to commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. I took the day off to join the outdoor Stations of the Cross at church. Different ministries were tasked with carrying a wooden cross from station to station. Mum came along too, and we represented the Chinese BECs. Although it was high noon, the congregation were unfazed by the heat. Once the all the stations were completed, we headed back into the church for the liturgy of the word. At the end, there was the veneration of the cross, and everyone left quietly after that. Dinner was with The Tribe at Restoran Fung V . Everything was great, except that the fish was more expensive than we thought. The kids wanted dessert, so we went on a cake hunt. A LONG cake hunt: Piccolo Cafe was closed. Street Cool Cafe and Lounge didn't have any cakes. Dessert Garden only served tong sui . Walnut Tree Cafe specialized in pies. Hit the jackpot at Butter Up Cafe . The business a...

LRT Celebrities: Korean Kim

Image
Hi boys and girls! Today's episode of LRT Celebrities is powered by an 'anonymous' submission by Mr. A. Thanks so much! He spotted Korean Kim on the Kelana Jaya line by the looks of the train. I'm guessing he's Korean by the sepet -ness of his eyes, and the yummy-ness of those biceps. For some reason, Korean boys love to beef-up ( side effect from too much bulgogi? ). Not sure if he's taking off his Vans so that's it's easier for him to slip off his sweat pants. XD. If THAT did happen, this would be a far more interesting post. The second shot from Mr. A ( you even get a smudge of his finger in this shot ) reveals Korean Kim's strong thighs, and a hint of his package. You decide for yourself if he will be good in bed. Keep those submissions coming! Until next time... * flying kisses *
