Early TangYuan

Once again, my Saturday was spent at Sri Petaling because of Big Monster's class there. To compensate for Christmas, he had a double class which lasted till 3:00 PM. Since that was the case, we dropped him off and immediately headed to Bandar Park, OUG. I was long overdue for a haircut, so I paid my stylist a visit. For some reason, my stylist was in a good mood that day. He paid more attention than usual to my hair and was very proud when he was done. According to him, it was different from what he usually did. I couldn't really detect the difference. LOL. Paid him, and went looking for my mum and the little one. We loitered at Parkson for some minor Christmas shopping. Little Monster browsed the toy department, but he did not pester me to buy anything. Little Monster: How much is this Minecraft® Hot Wheels® Ghast Attack Track™? Moi: MYR145. Little Monster: Wah, so expensive! Impressed. Much self-control. Parkson's gift wrapping counter was so swamped but they

Lunch with Four Monsters

Image
Met up with Cutiepie over lunch at One Utama. The occasion was to celebrate her belated birthday.  She brought her two monsters along, while I also had two monsters of my own. In comparison, she was much braver because she was alone ( while mum was with me ) and had arrived there since 11:00 AM. Three hours with two kids in a mall, a daunting feat. Told her that we would be eating at Ante at the Rainforest section. She had some trouble finding the place and her son had drained her smartphone battery. Thankfully, she found the place. With four kids at the table, all Hell broke loose. Couldn't have a decent sit down meal. The kids were shouting and running around. I don't think we properly enjoyed what was served. Haha. I was impressed with the pastas. At sub-MYR30, they were value for money and delicious. Even a simple item like the Garlic Olio came with lots of bacon bits. Delicious. Cutiepie told me that she forgot where she parked her car, and the photograph of the locat

Sing

Decided to bring the kids to watch Illumination's "Sing"  after seeing how the kids enjoyed the YouTube trailers. They seem to be particularly fond of the bunnies singing "Anaconda". Gunther the pig's rendition of "Bad Romance" also resonated with them. Watched it at IOI Mall with KH. The kids gave it two thumbs up. Even Little Monster gave his full attention. Wonder how much royalty they paid to cover all those songs. Right after the movie, the kids were screaming for dinner. To make things simple, we dined at TGIF. Tortillas, fajitas and quesadillas seem to be compatible with their appetite. The kids were sort of hyperactive after the movie. Was tempted to ply them with Long Island Iced Tea! That ended my movie date with KH..... and the kids... and my mum.

Twenty5

Image
There was a big breakfast gathering at my house as mum called in my sister, BIL, and SK to finish the leftover food from the day before. So much meat in the morning. LOL. We did our best. Whatever we couldn't finish we fed to the malnourished alley cats. It was also the day I sent in my car for a minor service. Managed to collect my car just in time for Big Monster's class in Sri Petaling. Loitered at The Store for a bit before eating lunch at Twenty5 . KH joined us. That cafe had a STRONG vibe with quite a number of sisters among the customers and staff. Wai confirmed that it is a pink establishment. Lovely. Foursquare recommended their Salted Egg Pasta, but I didn't really taste the salted egg. Perhaps the curry cream overpowered it. However, the portion was delightfully big. Also love their White Affogato with its strong espresso. At 1:30 PM, I picked Big Monster up from his class. It was quite a long walk for the kid actually. Big Monster took a look at the me

Little Hobbits

It's that time of the year again when the monsters spend more time with mum and I because my sister would be busy making calendars for the coming year. That Sunday, Little Monster followed us to church while his brother was at Science class. Such arrangements are usually better because without their partner in crime they much calmer. When Little Monster got fidgety, mum just pop a Fererro Rocher into his mouth. One mass, four chocolates. Yikes. Once we were done, we had to go pick the big one up from Sri Petaling. We reached there at 1:00 PM, but he wasn't done till 2:00 PM. Really a horrible time slot. Neither here nor there. Little Monster fell asleep in the car, else he would be wailing for lunch. Just waited in the car. With all that free time, I scoured Foursquare for a place to lunch. The Shotlist was pretty close where we were, but I decided to be a fan boy and go for The Shire Cafe instead. As you can guess from the name, the place has an LOTR-esque theme to it.

A Lego Birthday

Note: Been a way for a while cause I'm fighting a pesky viral flu... Weekends were starting to get jam-packed with activities as I got nearer to end of the year. Mum forwent her marketing session for her visit to the chiropractor after a bowl of steaming hot fishball noodles. We had Little Monster in tow because his mum was working over the weekend again. At the center, the kid was a bit restless but he entertained himself by singing a Mandarin song that was made weird to our eyes due to his less than accurate enunciation. He sang it phonetically where some of the words may have went missing or been altered. When mum went into the treatment room for spinal adjustment and muscle work, the kid stiffened up thinking that it might be his turn next. He watched warily from the corner, not taking his eyes off my mother. Later on he relaxed a bit and sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Row Row Row Your Boat" for the therapist. Next up was KT's daughter&#

Ever Wondered Why Santa Doesn't Have Kids?

Ball Heaven , swiped from williamnyk on Flickr. Christmas was a major monster madness for me. Mum went to get her hair done at A-Saloon, IOI Mall, so the whole tribe went. The cold perm took nearly three hours, so I had the fun of babysitting. My sister suggested that I take them to Reka Zone, which I did. Cost MYR33 for two monsters. Actually monsters below the age of two do not need to pay, but I did not have the MyKID to prove it. And you have to wear socks inside, else they charge you a hand and a foot for it. So what do you get for your money? Just a padded playground really. The staff won't take care of your kids. They're just there to make sure that monstrous monsters don't tear the house down or get themselves killed. The main attraction of the whole place is balls. Lots and lots of balls. Plastic balls. Nerf balls. All sorts of colours. Pools of balls. They even have pneumatic machines that pump balls all over the place. If you like, you can even have a battle

Sunday with Little Monster (Cafe Celebrities: Sailor Shin)

Goku Raku Ramen , swiped from williamnyk on Flickr. My sister had to OT again on Sunday, so she offloaded Little Monster on mum and I. Thankfully, she took Big Monster along with her to work. Without his mum around, Little Monster tends to be mellower and less manja . He was quite well-behaved at church. Just the usual ass-can't-sit-on-the-pew syndrome. Brought him to Coffee Sprex after mass. When the barista saw me, she immediately signed an 'L' and I just nodded. The usual. Haha. Met the co-owner of the establishment. She explained to me that she ran a programme of eighteen months to train the deaf and mute to run the business. Her first project was at Damansara Perdana for Cafe Aloha. She took a liking to Little Monster and gave an accurate assessment of his age and character. Gave him a butter cookie, but he was too shy to eat it. To make life easier, lunch was at Paradigm Mall again. This time round we went straight up to the top-most floor for Goku Raku Ramen . T
