Woke up bright and early on Saturday not because I had to go to the market, but because the kids were already banging on my door. Groggily, I got dressed and went out to breakfast with them. Mum no longer favoured our usual wantan mee haunt, so we went to the kopitiam next door instead. The wantan mee there is good too! Springy but the meat's kinda sweet though. Back home, I started a Peppa Pig marathon for the kids to shut them up. At 11:00 AM, sent Big Monster out to Seri Petaling for his science class. With all the recent development, Seri Petaling has gone from bad to worse. Too many cars, too little parking. It was just an hour, so we waited for him. Mum did some chores and we had some time to spare for lunch with SK. Lunched at Ipoh Chicken Rice 1977 , away from the horrible hustle and bustle. Little Monster got up just in time to makan . Just as I was leaving, Sharky turned up. But sadz  he never tegur me lo... ( but he messaged me afterwards, that's how I know LOL...

Palm Sunday: Jesus rides into town on a donkey. Lunch at Dae Jang Geum right opposite my church. I love vinegar-ed wakame ! Good Friday: Jesus dies on the cross. Hot cross buns! Hot cross buns! one a penny, two a penny, Hot cross buns! Easter Vigil: The resurrection of Jesus. Dinner at OIC Cafe , a huge, standalone cafe at Aman Suria.

He looked out the living room window, calling his mum to return. It continued upstairs and repeated downstairs. Finally quieted down after twenty minutes. I continued to sleep on the couch. At 6:25 am, the doorbell rang. The neighbour was at the front door waiting to pick Big Monster to school! The best thing was, he was still asleep. Told her to proceed, else the rest would be late too. Mum didn't wake up too cause she only slept after the Little Monster episode. Mum quickly got him ready and we jumped into the car to get him to school on time. Luckily we made it by 7:00 AM. Things have changed so much now. Schools actually look like prisons. In the United States of America, the Supreme Court ruled by a 5-to-4 vote on Friday that the Constitution guarantees a right to same-sex marriage. Although in another continent, this landmark ruling caused a huge reaction in Malaysia with my FB stream cumming six colour rainbows the whole day! And its great to see even straight friends showing their support. No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. As some of the petitioners in these cases demonstrate, marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Ever since mum came back from her East Coast trip, she complained of pains in her shoulder and arms. I gave her nightly massages, but it didn't seem to go away. Best choice was to see the doctor. Revisited the Orthopaedic surgeon in Tung Shin. Her last visit was in 2009! Arrived at Tung Shin bright and early, but obviously not early enough because there was already a crowd at the waiting area. Turns out that the queue number begins at 7:00 AM! Oh well. For some reason, the hospital attracts loads of PRC patients. When it came to our turn, the doctor asked mum some questions and did his thing. He surmised that she must have hurt herself during the long drive. Not good to sit without back and neck support, with your head lolling about during the car ride. Bound to hurt some muscles and nerves. He gave her medication and advised her to do daily neck and shoulder exercises. Hopefully she will be diligent. With no need to go to the market, I scheduled a visit to the doctor on Saturday morning. Decided to do a full blood test after a lull of nearly two years. Curious to know if the oat powder that I had been taking twice a day was working. The elderly doctor took some blood after enquiring about my medical history. When I opened my wallet to pay, I found that KH had secretly slotted my RapidKL card into it. It was his way of making sure I didn't forget to bring my card on weekdays. SK joined me for breakfast at Piccolo Cafe . Shared the big breakfast. Not that great at all. Their stuff is always over-fried . Out of the blue, SimonLover buzzed me and we quickly made an ad hoc lunch appointment at Tropicana City Mall. Made a quick call to JJ and was glad that he and is hubby could join. To appease JJ and Bunny's discerning tastes, we ate at Sushi Tei . Main topics were SimonLover's health and Bunny's bed bug infestation. Moved to Hui Lau Shan for a second round. ...

Friday night was paktor night for KH and I. We met at Avenue K and had dinner at Dolly Dim Sum . Fresca, their sister restaurant had plenty of vacant tables, but the dim sum place was quite full. Took them some time to clear up a table for us. Nearly felt like doing it myself. Impressive business for a halal dim sum place. Seems to be a hit with the Malays. Looked at their menu and the first thing that caught my eye was their prices. Averaging at MYR8, it's nearly on par with hotels and high-class restaurants. To gauge the quality of their food, we ordered the classics of siew mai and har gao . Both passed the test. Fresh, good taste and texture. Although the pan-fried radish cake looked simple, the aroma was amazing. According to Foursquare, they make a fantastic custard bun ( KH's fave ), but it didn't strike a chord with me. However, I loved their spicy Szechuan dumplings. And their beef balls were way better than what I had at Tim Ho Wan . Can give their wasabi p...

The school holidays were starting in a few days and all of a sudden mum told me that she was going for a week-long trip with my sister! My eyes lit up because it would mean quality time with KH! Turns out that they would be heading out on Sunday morning to the east coast city of Kuantan, my home town. Two days there, then two days in Bukit Gambang Water Park and the final two days in Cameron Highlands. Quite a journey. Early Sunday morning, I went to English mass and went to Paradigm Mall ( where else? ) to kill some time before my appointment with my hair stylist. Got a replacement clock at Kaison and other knick-knacks that caught my eye. Then sat down to a latte at Starbucks. Not long after I got my drink, two fellas occupied the table beside mine and my gaydar immediately bleeped. Turns out it was PT from FF doing some marketing. Did my yearly dental check-up on Saturday. For some reason, I always eat wantan noodles before getting my scaling and polishing done. My dentist never commented about my impacted wisdom tooth. He knows that I will come begging and crying when the pain sets in. Later in the afternoon, KH and I went to The Gardens Mall for a paktor session. Coffee at Jamaica Blue , then we went to watch "MACC: I Want To Touch a Douglas" at The Gardens Theatre. Susahnya nak cari tempat tu . Have to go up from a very specific escalator. The show was quite funny, with a series of stand up comedy from Jason Leong, Phoon Chi Ho ( I remember him from Shear Madness ), Kuah Jenhan and of course Douglas Lim. All sorts of jokes about politics, religion and race. Jason's material was mostly about his career change from doctor to comedian. Chi Ho talked a lot about his wife. Kuah shared an interesting personal story about interracial love. And Douglas really hates one of our national badminton ...

Truth be told, my own birthday had never been a big thing for me. Unlike some, I do not look up whether it falls on a weekday or a weekend. I don't throw parties nor do I take a day off. As an exception to the norm, KH took leave on his birthday this year. As his loving boyfriend, of course I would do the same! Bright and early, I picked him up and we both mulled over the idea of breakfast. I was thinking of dim sum on Old Klang Road, but was concerned about the rush hour traffic and lack of parking. The birthday boy decided to go to his favourite dim sum place in Pudu. Switched on Waze and it guided us to Kampung Pandan. At a critical turning, we screwed up and ended up on MEX heading back to Bukit Jalil! 天啊! Then when we tried to go back to KL again via MEX, I got on the wrong direction towards Putrajaya!
