More Marcuse

Image
Ever since I got my first pair of Marcuse swim trunks , I was impressed with the quality of the Australian brand. It was a yellow pair with a cute doggy decal at the side. Wore it once , and I was hooked. Out in the sun, the vibrant yellow was really eye-catching, and most importantly the fit was good, and the Italian lycra from Carvico was very comfortable. And so, I was itching for a second purchase, and it happened in September during one of their sales. Bought another two pairs although I don't really need them. And remember my post about having too many? LOL. What do you think of my choices? P.S. : Never have I put some links in one post!

Sorry Swimtrunks

Image
Must say sorry to my swimtrunks because it really has been ages since I visited the pool. My swimwear have been neglected. They are at risk of disintegrating. Several of the older pairs from Private Structure have begun to dry out. Can hear the lycra fibers breaking when I stretch it. Time to give the bunch a quick wash. For future maintenance, perhaps I should periodically wear them like underwear? Use them for sex sessions? Hmmm. Perhaps stop buying more? Nahhhh! Hahaha.

Swim Sunday

Image
Can't remember the last time I had a slow and lazy Sunday. Because mum had a charity event on Sunday morning, we went to sunset mass on Saturday. My day started at 8:00 AM, had a light bite to eat, and sent mum out. Then I went to the AirBnB to replenish some household items. For the very first time, I could swim at the pool there. It was an L-shaped infinity pool on the 6th floor, with a 'splendid' view of decaying shophouses along Old Klang Road. I didn't have the pool to myself as some kids were having their swimming lessons. That didn't stop me from changing into my skimpy yellow Marcuse swim trunks that SimonLover helped me purchase online. A couple of DILFs were there but they were in conservative suits. Did my laps then moved my stuff to the other end of the pool where it was quieter. Flopped myself on the lounge chair and relaxed. Unlike what SimonLover and ForIHaveSinned usually do, I didn't stick around to sizzle in the sun. By the time I left, i

Swimming in the Sky

Image
Babysitting duty fell to mum and I again because Sis and BIL were busy with an exhibition at PWTC. On Saturday morning, mum and I did a quick run at the OUG morning market. Fell in love with an apam balik stall. The snacks had a 5-star appearance, and the texture was good. Normally, apam balik turn rubbery when cold, but not this one. Some kind of secret ingredient in the batter. My only complaint is that the peanut filling was not as chunky as I would like it. We packed breakfast for the kids and headed home only to find that the kids already ate wantan noodles for breakfast. At noon, Big Monster had his weekend class at Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, so we spent ninety minutes there waiting for him to finish. Little Monster took a look around and finally settled on Villa Ju Bakery , exclaiming that there's where he normally 'chills'. He even knew exactly what he wanted~ an egg toast. For such a huge floor space, the bakery was quite empty. According to the kids, they

A White Raya

Image
With mum on a strict no-carbs diet, Raya ain't what it used to be. Plus, we had no inclination to go to any government open houses, so we just spent it at a local mall. Statistically, Sunway Pyramid is one the malls that we often ignore although its quite near to my place. The horrendous traffic and parking are the key reasons. So with most KL-ites out of town for Raya, we made our way there. The roads were clear and we found parking in a jiffy. For the first day of Raya, everything seemed business-as-usual. Only a few shops were closed. And since it was our first visit after a long time, many of the shops were fresh in our eyes. In my opinion, the Raya decorations were lacklustre. The focal point was the frame of a Malay village house, all in white. Event the silhouettes of coconut trees were white. Ever heard of a White Raya? Doesn't photograph well too. Our lunch was at Sho Kushiage , a pork katsu joint. Mum was felt adventurous and ordered the premium katsu with chees

Market and Swim

Image
Gosh. Nothing to say about a mundane Saturday in June. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking. Went to the market as usual. Took this photo from the multi-level car park that overlooks the playground. The vegetable sellers and food stall owners take over some of the space to do business. I love soup noodles in the morning, especially from the stall that operates from a small lane in the OUG morning market. Whenever I want a little more kick, I order some curry chicken feet. That weird looking thing is Ika Meshi which is squid stuffed with sticky rice. Bought that in Hakodate during my recent trip to Hokkaido. The reddish dish is red wine residual chicken, a Foochow dish. Mum and I love it. Been ages since my last visit to the pool. Kinda lost my stamina. Broke in a new pair of swim trunks that I bought online. The camo prints are interesting, no?

Water Woes Again

Image
Took Monday off to replace Nuzul Quran on Saturday. Perfect opportunity for me to check out the water woes at home. Recently, the water bill had been erratic with the last outstanding balance at MYR100+. How can two persons with no cleaning obsession use that much water a month!? The plumber wasn't coming in so early. When I called him some time before 9:00 AM, he answered the phone groggily. Think he was still sleeping. Went to breakfast with mum at Taman Damai Utama. When he came, we did some testing and eliminated some possibilities. In the end, he put his suspicion on the bathrooms. Odds were high at the master bedroom. The pipes were empty after the valve was closed indicating some abnormal beaviour. Think we heard a constant trickling sound behind one wall. The plumber left some time before noon and asked me to monitor the meter closely after letting the water tank fill up. Don't think he will be returning anytime soon to solve my problem. Lets see what the bill amount

Wet Market, Dry Taps

Image
It was a wet day at the market. Ironically, the taps were dry. Breakfast was at Kopitan Classic and it was horribly disappointing. My dry noodles were too soft and sickly sweet. And mum's curry noodles were too watery. Disposable utensils and paper cups were used because they had no water to do the dishes. Worst of all, the had even less water for the loos. Shit was left stranded in the bowls awaiting their saviour in two days time. Lovely. Finally managed to catch hold of my stylist for a haircut. But had to loiter a bit as the only slot he had was at noon. Got an extreme undercut in a last ditch effort to achieve the illusion of a slimmer face. XD. Since we had noodles for breakfast, mum suggested rice for lunch. Finally tried the famous siew yuk rice at Kedai Makan Mooi Mooi . Had an old world feel to it with the old wooden chairs and run-down look. Our bill was MYR13 for a plate of roast chicken rice and a plate of roast pork rice. Mahalz . The chicken was average but the s

Get the Reeds

Image
After a fortnight of going for English mass, we finally went back to the Mandarin session. Years and years of irritation later, the church finally built a 'family room' for parishioners with pesky kids. Realising that one can never expect kids to behave and sit still, it's easier to take them out of the 'equation'. Basically they cordoned off one corner with sound-proof glass and expect all the noisy children to be herded in there. But then, not everyone likes to sit in a 'fishbowl', so many parents still end up sitting outside. And the parents are usually too optimistic about how long their children will fidget or wail. Not many will immediately drag their kids out. When this happens, one can see the priest pause a while letting patience wash over him. LOL. Went to Kota Damansara after mass. Remember the aroma diffuser that KH got the day before? He forgot to take the reeds. So off I went to The Strand again. Quite a challenge deciding what to eat over t

Raya II: Dan Rendangnya Sekali

Image
Eggy Breakfast , swiped from williamnyk on Flickr. Breakfast on Raya 2 was a simple affair of bread and soft-boiled egg. And it was very uncharacteristic of me to get the urge to do housework. Swept the floor and turned up about fifteen dead cockroaches in my dustpan, some still twitching like zombies. Really wonder poison they have been ingesting in my house. Proceeded to mop the floor after that. Sooo tired and sweaty after that. Lunch was at Maison SK. She had watched the famous roast pork video that had been making its rounds on FB. Presentation was good. The skin was super crispy and the meat moist. But it just didn't quite taste like siew yuk . But a very good first attempt. She also made squid ink pasta topped with arugula, cherry tomatoes and pan-fried salmon steak. For after-lunch bites, mum made fruit rojak . Back home, I rested a little before going for a swim in my new Private Structure swim trunks! Quite a fun kermit-y green. Especially love the rainbow s

Alarmed

Image
cross your legs , swiped from williamnyk on Flickr. On Saturday, mum and I skipped marketing to have the kitchen cabinets installed. The contractors came at about 10:30am, and after they had settled down and started work, I went out to the car accessories shop again. This time to find out why my car alarm became mute. Turned out to be a dead horn. After replacing it, my old Iswara now sounds like a foreign car. LOL. Cool. After getting that fixed, I met up SK for lunch at a nearby coffeeshop. She was around to get her wound dressed. Helped her to hop into the shop ( seven stiches on her sole! ). Ate a lousy chicken rice and packed an even lousier mied rice for mum. When we got home, the cabinets were still being installed. The guy was very meticulous. He would test each door thoroughly. Everything had to be smooth. A litle knock here, a little adjustment there. The QA was superb. Left the house again to collect another MySale package at my office. This time round was some super che

Sunderwear

SpiderKid , swiped from williamnyk on Flickr. Dragged Cyan to church on Sunday. Roan stayed up all night and his mum was on the verge of a breakdown. The elser kid was all puffy-eyed and sleepy when we picked him up. At church he was quite well-behaved. Lunched at Restoran Ho Boh . The adults had lui cha and pan mee while we ordered the kiddy fried rice set for Cyan. Before going home, we stopped by at Giant BK 5 for some shopping. Refilled Cyan's cream cracker quota ( eats them like Cookie Monster ) and bought him a set of bowling pins. He was already restless and kept whining that his mum was waiting for him at home. In the afternoon, I drove over to KH's apartment. Chatted at the playground. Talked about his coming interviews and his relocation plans. When the sun was condong ke barat , we changed into our swimming gear and jumped into the pool. Did our usual skanky laps. ;). Halfway through, we were joined by a guy who had quite a yummy body. Not too muscular, but the
