Overdue Trim

Image
I cut my hair on the last day of February. The 17th day of the lunar calendar. Yes, I went through CNY with an unkempt bush! My hairstylist reminded me to come more often if I want to see him stay in business! Got it! In the evening, my sister organized a please-help-me-clear-the-glut-of-frozen-food-in-my-freezer party. Recruited SK, and KH, to help with the grill and the steamboat. In the end, there was still a lot left over. We weren't ravenous enough. Probably need a few more parties.

RMCO Rambut

In usual cases, the longest I could go without a haircut is two months. Due to the pandemic, it was dragged till three months. Made an appointment with my stylist and he fit me in. Mum was itching for a perm, but chemical treatments were not allowed just yet. When I arrived, the door was locked. Guess it was to discourage walk-ins. When I got in, there was the standard scanning and temperature checks. Additionally, I was made to wear plastic gloves, those they give you to eat pork ribs. Noticed that the cafe wasn't open. My stylist wore personal protective gear, a face mask, and a face shield. He wore gloves, and had a  disinfectant fogger. He admitted in such working conditions, eight appointments a day was all that he could manage. After I sat in the chair, I was covered with a disposable plastic apron. Other than that, it was business as usual. There was an additional MYR5 charge for all the extras.  KH and I had a lunch date after my haircut. I had a simple beef bowl at Neighbo

Hair and Tooth

Several weeks after mum's tooth extraction, we were back at the dentist for dentures. Dr. Wong recommended cobalt chrome dentures because it would offer the best fit, grip, and chewing experience for mum's situation. A very simple process really. Mum just needed to bite into moulding paste. The paste started off, then turned yellow when set. That was it. According to the nurse, it would take at least 14 working days for the dentures to be ready. And mum would need to go through a fitting process. Total damage was MYR1,750! Huhuhu. Although it was already 10:30 AM after we were done at the dentist's, we went to the wet market anyway. Just a short trip as the sun was already out and some of the stalls had begun closing. Next stop was Plaza OUG to visit my hair stylist. I was WAY overdue for a trim. The appointment was at 1:00 PM. so we had some time to kill. My hair stylist's ex-business partner was having a scalp treatment promotion ( he has his own place nearby ), s

Early TangYuan

Once again, my Saturday was spent at Sri Petaling because of Big Monster's class there. To compensate for Christmas, he had a double class which lasted till 3:00 PM. Since that was the case, we dropped him off and immediately headed to Bandar Park, OUG. I was long overdue for a haircut, so I paid my stylist a visit. For some reason, my stylist was in a good mood that day. He paid more attention than usual to my hair and was very proud when he was done. According to him, it was different from what he usually did. I couldn't really detect the difference. LOL. Paid him, and went looking for my mum and the little one. We loitered at Parkson for some minor Christmas shopping. Little Monster browsed the toy department, but he did not pester me to buy anything. Little Monster: How much is this Minecraft® Hot Wheels® Ghast Attack Track™? Moi: MYR145. Little Monster: Wah, so expensive! Impressed. Much self-control. Parkson's gift wrapping counter was so swamped but they

Early Birthday

Image
Back in KL, I reverted back to my Saturday morning marketing. DBKL's progress on the new wet market building is quite good. Should be done by next year. Got my usual breakfast soup noodles fix and proceeded to get my haircut. Surprisingly mum suddenly said she would like my stylist to perm her hair. Thankfully she was happy with the results. Many years ago, she did a digital perm there and hated the outcome. She complained for weeks. In the evening, SK, KH, #BF, Lifebook and Brian gave me an early birthday celebration at Eyuzu , Eastin Hotel. Never tried that before. Nothing to shout about really. I must say that buffets don't make my heart go aflutter anymore. More likely to cause heart disease. Haha. Can't gorge anymore.  On our way out, a straight couple employed our help to help them with a couple of photos. They were really demanding and particular. For a while there I thought we were being paid. Did not go directly home after dinner ( Lifebook went home

Hair & Coffee

Image
Mum cancelled her Saturday marketing to get her hair permed at Salak South. Since she was out fixing her hair, I made an appointment with my stylist too. Managed to catch him right after his holiday trip to HK. Complained that it rained the whole time he was there. Managed to meet KH after my haircut at Citrus Park, OUG. He had just finished a hike at Bukit Gasing. That silly boyfriend of mine actually went to do such a strenuous activity just a few days after recovering from his sickness. Told me he saw stars at the top of the hill. Lack of common sense. Ish. He was fine by the time he saw me ( perhaps seeing me was therapeutic LOL ). Anyway, he accompanied for lunch at Nando's . And we later went to Doors Cafe for coffee. I was very happy with their latte that day. Camwhored with KH, trying out the voice-controlled shutter feature of his LG G2. Two idiots shouting kimchi to get their photo taken. Wakakaka.

Rightfully Shaved

Image
Deconstructed, Reconstructed , swiped from williamnyk on Flickr. Sunday was the usual church day with the exception of fantastic traffic ( not like Sunday traffic in the morning is bad to begin with ), thanks to the school holidays. That means that Sunday School's also off and that practically cleared up traffic around the church. Went to have YTF at OKR's Ipoh Road Yong Tau Fu , but the weather made it quite unbearable. And it didn't help that there was a TNB mobile electric generator grumbling just around the corner. Cut my hair after that at my regular stylist. He was itching to use the shaver again, so I went along with it. Shaved most of the sides and the back. Definitely felt good to have such a haircut in this horrible heat wave. Trimmed a bit of my fringe, but just to get the hair out of the corner of my eye. A little swelling there, no doubt infected due to my product-laden hair poking into the tender bits. Overall, I liked the new look. Did a little grocery sh

Reno, Haircut & Steamboat

Kopi Tarik Swiped from williamnyk . Mum breezed through Saturday's morning market ritual because she made an appointment with the renovator at 11:00am. For breakfast, we packed nasi lemak and dry curry noodles from the OUG Wet Market. My mother also bought some jelly-fied coconut ( still in the shell ). Quite nice and refreshing. The renovator inspected the damage to the house extension. Both walls had cracked more than an inch. The floor tiles have begun to tilt and crack too. At some parts, even the main house body has started to crack due to the pressure. Initial findings suggest that the footing's not wide enough to support the extension. He would most probably hack off a section from both walls, put a beam in place and cantilever it to the main structure. He even brought his wife along. Quite a motor-mouth! Hopefully he can remedy the shoddy work that the original renovator delivered. Sigh. In the afternoon, SK and I went out for lunch at Restoran Ah Loy , OUG. It was

Shaggy (Not The Rapper!)

Image
KH prefers me to have short hair. No idea why. Personal preference. During my last trip to Singapore, I did not find the time to see my stylist, so my hair was thick and had a good length ( sounds like I'm talking about something else, XD ). When we made love, my hair poked him in the eyes a couple of times ( while some other poking was going on ). Now that I've dyed my hair, I'm gonna put off my haircut for several more weeks cause my colour can only survive 3.5 haircuts. Hehe. My baby will have to suffer my shaggy look for a bit longer! You don't mind right, baby? P.S.: Sorry la, cameras don't focus well on hair in macro mode!

The Rambutan Trimming Accident

Image
rambutan / nephelium lappaceum Swiped from neo studio . I am not a hairy person, but I do need to trim the nether regions once in a while. Especially true when anticipating sexual encounters with dear KH. Not so nice la welcoming him to an unkempt forest and having him coughing up hairballs after working his way through. So before my trip to Singapore, I whipped out my pair of safety scissors and started trimming my pubes. I'm definitely no Vidal Sassoon, but I think I did quite a great job. But when I started on my balls, I think was a little bit too zealous. Metal collided with delicate skin and ouch! Saw a drop of red blood forming on my left scrotum. Eeeeek. A near-Bobbit experience! Out came the tissues. Boy, that place sure can bleed. Put some Betadine on it and finished the job. Pheww. Perhaps I should consider a Boyzilian next time. Hehe.

Reclaim my Weekends

Image
Unruly hair Swiped from tanakawho . Saturdays have started to be a very sienz affair for me. Perhaps right up till August, I will have to be in the office on Saturdays. Just too see things through. To stare at a resource-hungry Gantt chart that cannot be fulfilled in the current timeline. I already have my people working on concurrent tasks. And the delivery dates are ridiculous. It's not like people can have Core 2 Duo CPUs to move things along. And yet my Project Managers keep on asking about the percentage completed. Just quote any number you like la... I couldn't be bothered. Whenever I work on weekends, I try to get into the office as early as possible ( sacrificing some sleep in time ) so as to be able to clock my minimum of 5 hours and leave. Last Satuday was not different. After my boss treated me lunch at Old Town Kopitiam , Central Market, I cabut . I had a couple of hours to kill before my appointment with my hairstylist, so I dashed off to Suria KLCC for some shopp

Hair Again

Image
After Swiped from williamnyk . Hair Again It's been nearly 9 weeks since my last haircut and I caved in on Sunday. Getting really thick and my hair is constantly in my eyes. I find that I have resorted to tossing my hair a bit. Heh. Roughly 1.5" of hair growth as I can see plenty of black at my roots already. My stylist complained why I was MIA. Trimmed off all the excess Felt instantly lighther, but I lost all my colour on the sides of my head. Anyway, at lunch the other day, I saw one of the stylists from Peek-a-Boo , TTDI. The fella's hair really caught my eye. Pure manga. Had one eye completely curtained by his hair. I can't imagine walking around with a monoscopic view ( can always get an eye-patch to simulate, hor? ). Wonder what he does with his other eye beneath all that hair. It's gotta be bad for eyesight. But then, I still think it's cool! Sugei.... PS: Forgive the narcissistic pics. Some before and after.
