Simon's CNY Soirée

Chung Kwo School

For several years now, I have been attending Love Eternal Charity Association of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur's CNY gathering with mum. This Christian non-profit organization primarily works with single parent families, providing them with monetary and non-monetary support. 2018's event (their 18th) nearly didn't happen because of the recent death of their founder, the late Reverend Dorcas Wong. But they pulled through anyway, so there we were at SJK(C) Chung Kwo. The luncheon was attended by around twenty charity organizations, including old folks homes, the handicapped, the visually-impaired, the hearing-impaired, single mothers, and dialysis patients. During the lunch, there were many performances, mostly song and dance. And what's a CNY luncheon without a lion dance right? And thank goodness they used the traditional Big Head Monk. At the end of the event, they gave out goodie bags to everyone.

Lion Dance

Chinese Dance

Several months ago, SimonLover proposed a CNY gathering at his condo. After much planning, he managed to set it a day after Chap Goh Mei. Better late than never in my opinion. On the guest list was PluBoy, JJ, Bunny, Junior, Khatijah, ForIHaveSinned, and two of his housemates (Housemate C and Housemate P). When I arrived, SimonLover was busy in the kitchen stir-frying some broccoli. Although he was occupied, he made sure I had a cup of homemade pumpkin barley to drink while waiting for the others. The party was a potluck, where the host prepared stir-fried vegetables, scrambled eggs, blanched okra, and BKT (one pot lean, the other fatty). His housemates got the lou sang, while I brought booze. JJ and Bunny were responsible for chicken nuggets, and ForIHaveSinned took care of fruits.

Booze

Actually, SimonLover had a dress theme for his party, but he just kept quiet. He wanted everyone to come in short shorts. Only he and ForIHaveSinned fulfilled the dress code (I took several photos of their booties). I wore Private Structure sports shorts, but I think they would have wanted shorter. LOL. After the eating and chatting had winded down, SimonLover put on a movie screening. It took some time for him to accomplish it because he was having a hard time looking for the correct 'home video' in his hard disk. In the end, we settled on "Along With The Gods", a Korean movie that I had recently watched with mum. At the end of the party, KH showed up. Truly a case of better late than never. Once again, thanks a lot to SimonLover for hosting a great party.
