KLIA2 Fail

P1040008 Carousel, 2-9-10

Usually, I fly out of Changi on the 1910 Air Asia flight. That day, the flight was delayed for 45 minutes due to inclement weather around KLIA2. Waited on the tarmac for control tower clearance. Outside the cockpit, the flight attendants were busying themselves trying to find stowage for a stray bag. Everything had been filled up. In the end, they just left it outside. Think it was because too many Indian nationals boarded that evening and they all bought a whole lot of Canadian Club! When we arrived at KLIA2, it had stopped raining. More bad news ensued. The plane docked at the furthest gate and even by the time I got to the baggage claim, my luggage wasn't there yet. Not a surprise but what was REALLY surprising was the fact that I saw 7 other flights queued at the same belt. Had to wait for luggage from Taipei, Bandar Seri Begawan and Surabaya to clear before it was our turn. Took more than an hour with passengers from the multiple flights crowding at the same belt. Chaos. You could shop for cosmetics, fragrances, cigarettes and liquor and your bags would not be out. Lovely. Guess once KLIA gave the green light, a deluge of delayed flights came in at the same time. My worst experience in KLIA2 so far. :(.
