3-On-3 B-Boy Competition from William Ng on Vimeo
One hour later, we picked mum up and went to dinner at Jalan Kenari. Wanted to try 8 Road, but it was too crowded. Took the next best thing, DST Bullfrog Porridge. Also busy, but luckily we found a table. When at a bullfrog place, of course one eats bullfrog. Ordered a pot of white porridge (mum was afraid of a bullfrog overload) to go with ginger spring onion bullfrog and kung pao bullfrog. Both were quite nice, with a nice thick gravy that went well with porridge. The meat was also fresh and smooth. Good texture. Just MYR10 per frog and the portion's quite hearty. Go give it a try if you have a score to settle with Kermit.

Went out at about 4:00pm to meet up some bloggers. Been ages since I met knew people so when Ash told me that Yenyl, JBoy and Vincent~ would be making an appearance, I immediately said yes. How often does one get to kill three birds with one stone? (
Food was so-so, average Japanese fare. I ordered their sashimi set which came with their trademark hyper-咸 chawanmushi. For someone who grew up licking soy sauce and eating salted fish as is, I found it to be too salty! Took one taste and rejected the rest. We kecoh-ed there for a solid three hours. And for some reason, the whole restaurant was crawling with gay lous. Our topics jumped from religion to ghost stories to psycho friends to health sciences to Foochow linguistics and tarot cards. By the time we left for dessert, a long line was already forming outside the restaurant. As boring as it sounds, we had Snowflake. As we arrived, it dawned on me the reason for the horried traffic condition-- Maybank Treats Fair. Masyallah. Why do so many people use MBB's lousy service?! I had something from their soya ice series and we did a little bit more chatting. Vincent~ was such an infinite source of amusing stories. At about 10:30pm, we made a move and I sent Ash and Yenyl to Bangsar LRT. It was a fun meet-up, but I'm not sure if the stars will align again for such an event any time soon...

Mum was busy over at my sister's place taking care of the kids (my sis was rushing on a job), so I did not go to the wet market that Saturday. Slept in and at about 10:00am, I drove out to Restoran Yoon Ping for breakfast. Wanted to eat something healthier, but I couldn't resist the curry noodles. Took my sweet time to eat because the all the car accessories shops weren't open yet. Had to fix SK's car alarm you see. At about half an hour later, one shop had opened, so I quickly approach the staff there. Described my problem and let him diagnose it. He thought it was an open and shut case but apparently he was mistaken. In the end, he had to remove the alarm box from under the dashboard. While squatting down to do that, I had good view of his ass crack... and it wasn't pretty (I have the sneaky shot, but I'll spare your eyes). Not a cute ah beng car accessories guy... just my luck. And I was wearing a tiny, flirty tank top. Wasted. XD. The guy needed a couple of hours, so I walked home. I only received a call at 1:00pm. Took around three hours. Walked over and collected the car. The fella so beria-ia explain the features to me. The alarm is actually quite annoying. Everytime you disarm the alarm and open the door, the hazard lights flash. If you disarm the alarm and close the door, it will make noise if you do not lock it. Macam-macam. For lunch, I went over to my sister's place. Roan was in his cot making noise. His mood swings are amazing. In just one second, he can transform from happy, gurgling baby to a blaring alarm clock. Hungry one second, and sleepy the next. Susah, susah. Decided that I would rather go swimming than babysit, so I went off. Such a bad uncle hor? Haha. As usual, the pool was devoid of any eye candy. When will my pool be a magnet for cuties?! Oh well. Back to reality.
Later in the evening, mum and I went to Sri Petaling to see her friend about a Guilin trip in September. Had to settle the payment and visa. Got two play with poodles, Jia Jia and Di Di. One was subdued, the other was a bit OTT (my mum's friend called her sampat). Apparently, both are a few doggy treats shy of a dozen. Jia Jia's puppies were separated from her during a very early period and have subsequently died, thus plunging her into depression. Di Di on the other hand was caged for more than a year and after her release, kinda went bonkers at her new found freedom. Sad cases both of 'em. Their original owners were pet groomers and had too many dogs to handle. But still, both look super adorable since they have access to free grooming from the students studying at the academy. Hopefully the pair of sisters will be able to straighten out their psychological situation soon!

Painted Skin 2, The Resurrection, Cannes Film Festival, swiped from Real TV Films on Flickr.
Walking out of the hall, we immediately looked for food. Famished! Ate at Tea Garden, a kopitiam with wide selection of food and pretty fair prices. SK ordered half a steamed herbal chicken for just MYR12.90, while mum and I shared a yam chicken rice set. Their wholemeal toast was quite good, but mum complained that it was a bit too thin. Rushed home by 3:30pm to have the cabinet guy install an altar at home. Just a simple white shelf. Then washed my car and SK's car. The dirt was half an inch thick already. While I was hosing down SK's car, the alarm suddenly went off. Went nuts! Couldn't arm it without causing a fuss, so I just locked it with the key. For dinner, went to the nearby food court for century egg porridge and a plate of sotong kangkung. Been so long since I ordered the latter that I was shocked to learn that it's so much more expensive than the porridge! But it was good. Reminded me of my childhood days when dad used to order it when we ate out at the hawker stalls. Those were the days when chicken rice was packed in brown paper and the portion was practically for two and a MYR1.50 lin chee kang came in a huge ass bowl with lots of condiments. Food from back then always seemed the best. Etched in our memories as the most delicious and not reproduceable. Forever out of reach. Better to just leave it that way I guess...

Back to Saturday marketing with the POC out of the way. Just a short trip this time. Breakfast was had at the Happy Garden market where downed a couple of bowls of curry noodles with an extra helping of mint leaves and roast duck that we had bought. After sending my mum to my sister's place, I followed SK to meet her supplier at an unmarked factory lot in Puchong. Felt like we were collecting bags of heroin. On the way back, saw a familiar restaurant near the industrial area-- The Wok! I remember it being in Kota Damansara. As we stopped in front of the place, I immediately recognized the owner. The interior decoration was exactly how I remembered it. Woody and antique. Kinda like heritage preservation where the shop was moved piece by piece to the new location, or perhaps it was picked up and dropped in the new place. A fabulous leng gor with shades on his head took our order. Was impressed with our choice of perut ikan, sambal kacang botor and inche kabin. Asked whether we were Penangites (Penangites feel free to groan and complain). Loved the food, but I think the spicy stuff and the fried chicken eventually gave me a sore throat later than night. :(. Rested at home after that. In the evening, SK brought mum and I for a foodie trip in Shah Alam-- Islamic Mainland Chinese cuisine at Restoran Bei Ping. One would never have guessed that Shah Alam hid such a gem in the dark and quiet Section 15. The owner's from the PRC and the interior looked kinda frozen in time. Reminded me of restaurants in BSB.
Upon arrival, I went to use the loo. The collapsible PVC door was closed, but I gave it a push anyway just in case. It wasn't locked, so I gave it a further push.
Lo and behold, I had a wonderful view of a hunk's flaccid, but hefty dick. Definitely golden shower wet dream material. A scream greeted me. I saw a girl's shocked face and she quickly shut the door. Thank goodness I did not catch a glimpse of anything that could have spoiled my appetite. Stunned, I walked back to the table wondering of the door lock was faulty or whether she forgot to lock it. Found out later that it was the latter. I let SK decide on what dishes to order, but I did have one little request, "Order the special stuff". Wanted to try the Peking duck or yam duck, but unfortunately we already had duck in the morning. What came to table was premium soy sauce prawns (the soy sauce was very fragrant and it came garnished with potato chips!), stir-fried lotus root with lily bulbs (a wonderfully light dish that came with pear and almond flakes), stir-fried kale with scallops and lastly house style steamed fish (another wonderful example of how good soy sauce can make a world of difference). Good stuff. Would definitely come back to try the other items. Overheard at the table beside mine. There were two iPads at the table:
"Is there any WIFI here? No? No?! What kind of place doesn't have WIFI at this day and age har?"
I don't know whether they came to eat or came to browse the net. Wonder if they ask the same question at roadside hawkers. Sheesh. Before going home, we went to Empire Subang for a spell. Didn't buy anything really. Sat down at Serai instead for banoffee pie, pavlova and a cappuccino. Heavenly. Surprisingly, I bumped into Jin there. He was just leaving his alumni gathering. Was so surprised to see someone with a name tag on his shirt waving at me. Thought it was a Jehovah Witness evangelist! Been years since I last saw him. Promised each other to have a gathering with some of the other guys, but that has yet to materialize (I'm such a lousy orgynizer). A whole day of rich foods... so guilty...

Finished the second half of the POC on Wednesday. Couldn't care less about trying to get points for the items. Just told the truth and said that it was unsupported but customizable. There were also several boo-boos with the system, but I deftly hid the errors or in some cases just jual air liur. The audience was already sick of me and restless, so they let it pass. Wakaka. I was out of there by lunch time. Took the train down Bukit Jalil, collected my car and thought about lunch. Made a last minute decision to call KH:
"Hi dear, you have one hour to accompany me for lunch?"
His mum would just have to wait to have lunch with him. :P. Picked him up and we went to Star Cafe, Taman Desa. Ate there once with my colleagues during a farewell lunch. Was told that the chef was from The Colliseum. Finding parking was relatively easy, but digging for coins to pay the parking meter wasn't. I practically had to dig for coins under the seat to pay the minimum MYR0.50. Service was slow as molasses with just one waitress struggling to serve just two tables. And when my ice water came, it was poured all over my slacks.
KH immediately came to rescue dabbing my crotch with his hankie. Ordered fried glass noodles for MYR14. Quite steep, but it was excellent. The wok hei was there and the prawns were succulent and large. He was scheduled to leave for Singapore that night, so it was a poignant lunch. Wished that my lunch time was longer. As per ChatMate's request, we camwhored a bit in the car before I sent him home. Until the next visit...

On the POC D-day, I waited and waited and waited and waited... Thank goodness the client provided tea breaks, lunch breaks and other what-not breaks. My slot was supposed to be at 2:30pm, but it was delayed by three freaking hours till 5:30pm. The idiots before me where so enthusiastic to show off their few items that they forgot the big picture. I had a bloody one hundred and thirty seven to go! By that time, the consultant was pissed and she hissed at me through her braced teeth.
"Please speed things up and make sure that the demo system has a faster response time."
F*ck off. What do you expect when we are using an erratic wireless broadband to VPN back to our HQ?! (you should have let us use the internet line b*tch!) Definitely ain't moving the million ringgit iSeries server all the way there for a deal that most probably won't even materialize. Barely 50% through, the audience was getting restless. They wanted to go for prayers and go home. Ms. Jaws kinda ignored them and declared that she would be buying dinner so that they could continue.
"OK, we discuss this later. But first, what does everyone want for dinner?"
"WE DON'T WANT DINNER. WE'RE GOING HOME."
Better not try my luck, so I just detained them till 7:45pm. The bosses weren't happy that I did not finish my session, but it was no fault of mine. The consultant cornered me again and told me to put it into high gear tomorrow and she once again warned me to make sure that the system's response time would be good. Couldn't care less really. Went off to meet KH and SK at Sheraton Imperial Hotel. So surprised to hear that they stopped there for coffee after KH's interview. Sounded so posh. Haha. Miscommunication of sorts really. They thought my session was at the hotel. I just said Sheraton because I was too lazy to describe the exact location.
KH looked smart dressed in his formal work clothes, hehe. Gave him a big kiss and snuggled next to him in the backseat. Just held onto his biceps and refused to let go. SK drove and drove and drove until we reached Seri Petaling's Sweet Bean, the place it all started. It was so nostalgic that we sat back at the same table, but it was good enough. After that stressful session at work, I was famished. Downed a bowl of porridge and some tong sui. Later on, we were joined by JJ and yes, KH's ex again! Do you see a pattern? Well, I didn't sulk la. Too tired. :P. To be fair, Bunny was supposed to come, but his anti-socialness got the better of him. Fortunately, Kenji and JJ had a common topic-- computer games. Not bad for a first conversation. :). My battery had run out, so SK and I left early again... I miss my baby!

Monday was the last day that I could do my preparation for the big demo. Did several last minute checks and changes to fit the POC script. Even up till the end, one can still find more things that were lacking. Since I had no more time, I just gave it the old "f*ck it". The demo laptop had to be brought to the client site for connectivity testing, I so didn't stay back that day. Picked KH up and we went to Seri Petaling. Randomly picked one of the new food outlets there for a quick bite to eat before meeting KH's ex, Kenji. Yes, you read it right, his ex. An awkward thing one would say, but what the heck. Just ordered ten bacon meatballs at Tao Tao Kitchen. Tasty, and as it should be since it was MYR1.40 per piece! Talked more about KH's future plans and the possible opportunities for him in KL. At 9:00pm, we walked over to Blackball for dessert. Took their Bestseller. Looks-wise, very much like Snowflake's offering, but taste-wise it was quite good. Finished that bowl while waiting for Kenji to arrive. He was more than half an hour late. Experience teaches me that for some reason, the closer the venue is, the later one can be! It's weird. Due to his tardiness (and the horrible parking situation there), I only had fifteen minutes to jaga my KH! LOL. The last we had met was in 2009 for Bunny's birthday party. At that meeting, KH wasn't around and I sat face to face with him. Think there was a stiff smile plastered on my face the whole time. :P. This time round I had KH by my side and I let him do most of the talking. Lots of things to catch up on really. From what I observed, Kenji was very animated when talking, kinda like in cartoon mode! A certain appeal I guess. Wanted to stay, but I had to leave for home... I entrusted Kenji to send KH home (alarm bells?!). I walked out and didn't take a second look back. Fuiyoh, drama kan?. Got home to find that I was home alone. Mum had left dinner on the table and went back to my sister's place to take care of the kids. One of the rare times I can eat dinner in my undies. Wakakaka.

Working for long hours can be shitty, so my colleagues and I usually go for breaks at the nearby mamak shop for some sanity and to de-stress with food. Saw this straight Malay cutie hanging out with his machas at Devis's Corner in TTDI. Sad to say that he has the typical straight attitude (was 'blowing bull' with his friends, talking big and what not) and smokes. But I can overlook that seeing that his arms are quite sexy. Huhu. That definitely perked me up for more drudgery in the office!

In my line of work, there are several abbreviations that I abhor. I shall list them out for you and they do come in that particular order:
- RFI - Request for Information - a short inquiry about a certain solution that the potential client needs
- RFP - Request for Proposal - basically the customer gives out a list of requirements and questions and we are supposed to come up with a complete proposal that addresses their technical, functional and commercial needs. A lot of lying, creative writing and delusion takes place here
- POC - Proof of Concept - if the potential client is happy with the RFP, they will shortlist us to do a demonstration of what we said we were able to do in the RFP. And since we always lie, we always end up coming up with some half-baked features just for show (think cardboard movie backdrops)

Many people have asked me when my LDR will end. Truth be told I have no definite answer, so I just arbitrarily tell them, "2012 kwa...". I can only repeat what KH told me (but he insists that he did not say 2012!). For the first five months of 2012, I never saw any indication of KH's relocation back to Malaysia. And I never said anything to exert pressure (but KH begs to differ!). Just a few 'innocent inquiries' here and there during our conversation. Hehe. But recently, things seem to have shifted into high gear. He had contacted a head hunter and started distributing his resume to potential employers. Even managed to go for two interviews in KL! He has also started moving some stuff back home (knowing what a big hoarder he is, he would most probably need at least six trips). So far, he has not received any offers. But when he does, it will be another three months to serve his notice. To my surprise, he has also started talking to his bosses about his imminent return to Malaysia. Realistically, things might drag out a bit but I'm seriously fine with that. KH is also wondering about our future together. It will take some adjustment to switch off the LDR mode. Won't be quite the same. Five years of not getting regular doses of each other and suddenly we get a relative glut! Even his colleagues have some doubts. They describe him as being 'aloof' and would potentially not give me enough attention. In my opinion, things should be fine. I just have to get used to the idea that my BF will be physically within reach and available for social outings AND sexual escapades. I have confidence in us. For the initial part, we definitely would not be living together as both of us have families in KL. Going our for regular dates would already be a giant step for us. Haha. Ah well, it's still early anyway. Referring to the Chinese idiom, I think out of ten strokes, we already have one in place. Wish us luck!

Filled up on my spiritual needs at church on Sunday. Was feeling rather helpless with the strong currents at work and a little faith did help to ease the burden. Somehow it feels better when one gives in and leave things to God. Sempena Father's Day, the Youth did a disjointed dance performance in the church compound-- adolescents dancing to Madonna's "4 Minutes". The whole atmosphere was dripping with lala-ness. Was sick of the food options in Kelana Jaya and OKR, so we ventured to Puchong Jaya for lunch. Stopped at Restoran KH20 (no affiliation with my KH) for bihun kolok (they ran out of noodles) and duck rice. Not bad. Sent my mum to my sister's place after that. Sis and BIL were having a dinner party later for Cyan's birthday cum Roan's baby shower. The main dish was nasi lemak so I helped with some prep work before heading home. Rested a while before I went for my weekly swim. As usual, the guests were late in coming, so SK and I tucked into some of the food first. The nasi lemak was wonderful and went well with SK's sambal prawns. In addition to that, there were some cocktail sausages, putu mayam and vadai. Durian was also served, but I gave that a pass. I like the taste, but dislike the after-effects. As more friends arrived, so did the number of kids. By 9:00pm, the living room turned into a crazy house. Couldn't stand the noise so I snuck a mini Magnum upstairs and fiddled with my iPhone, while watching Roan sleep...

Having participated in Danny Gaga's guessing game, I won some souvenirs from Melbourne!!! He was so nice to courier me a box of nougat, a kangaroo refrigerator magnet and a wooden boomerang with aboriginal art on it. Thank you so much! So many things right? And yet in his note, he described it as "just a little something" and in his e-mail correspondences, he told me not have high expectations over "just very little thing" (sic). I hope this doesn't mean that I'm disqualified from future contests!
P.S.: Actually I was secretly hoping for an Aussiebum underwear model. :P

Once more, Saturday saw me doing the market and office routine. One would think that Saturday's a day of rest and sleeping in but I've not done that in a long time. :(. Left work a bit earlier coz I wasn't really in the mood to work. June's been a pretty bad month for me with three proposals to rush, one proof of concept, a project manager breathing down my next regarding development progress and a quality manager asking me every other day whether I had finished testing the system. Team lead. Developer. Tester. Pre-sales. Marketing. Way too many hats. Way too long hours. Way too little pay. Left work a tad early to swim. At the entrance of my apartment, I bumped into my tenant and his friend. We both gave each other the scan. His friend was very likely gay. Hurriedly asked about the leak at the unit and went to change into my swim trunks. Perhaps it wasn't such a good idea to swim on that day as the haze was pretty bad. Every gulp of air I inhaled was full of unhealthy particles. So I cut my swim short and went home to rest.
For dinner, Sis suggested Marco's Pizza as it was her eldest son's birthday and his flavour of the month was pizza. The restaurant was packed that day due to Father's Day but at least they managed to find a table for us. We were warned that the kitchen's throughput was that good so we decided to cut the birthday cake first to alas perut. A slice of the RT Bakery Mirror Chocolate made the waiting so much more bearable. Our order trickled in with the starters and pastas coming first and strangely without any sign of our drinks. The BBQ chicken wings were extremely dry. A tube of KY would not have sufficed. However, I liked the fettucine vongole. The pasta was al dente and the sauce quite good. Lastly, both our pizzas arrived. First time having pizza with egg on it. Not bad really. And as usual, Roan slept through the whole thing!
