A Golden Christmas

Note: More leftovers from 2010. Hehe.

With the holiday season in full swing, even church attendance suffered. Parking was not a hassle and it was relatively easy to find seats. After church, we went to Pavilion to catch the "Golden Christmas" there. Did not get to see the artificial snow as reported by the newspapers. But it was impressive none-the-less. Plenty of people were streaming in to cam-whore. Seeing that the Food Republic was crawling with shoppers, we chose something less chaotic~ Ichiban Boshi. Been some time since I ate there. Noticed a difference in the menu and uniforms. SK wasn't feeling well (after downing a whole packet of nasi lemak no less!), so she just munched on a temaki. Mum and I shared a salmon head misu soup and a unagi omelette set. Just window shopping that day. Mum wanted to get a pair of Skechers, but no size. SK wanted to get a dress for HP's wedding, but the price was prettier than the dress.

We left at about 4:30pm and by the time we exited the MEX Highway, we were greeted by a wondrous jam at Bukit Jalil. Three more hours to the AFF Suzuki Cup showdown with Indonesia, and the cars were already double-parked on KESAS. Mostly were Malaysia supporters. Saw the idiots walking to the stadium draped with flags, face paint and wigs. Only spotted several Indonesian supporters. If you followed the news, Malaysia won that day with 3-0. The victory was marred by allegations that Malaysian supporters used lasers and flares to distract the Indonesian players (which was confirmed by eyewitnesses from our own side). And subsequently, we overcame Indonesia with an aggregate score of 4-2 in Bung Karno Stadium on Thursday, prompting our beloved PM to declare New Year's Eve as a public holiday. What's so great about that win anyway? Kee Thuan Chye on Malaysia Today called it a "celebration of mediocrity". LOL. I'm guessing that it threw a nice shiny spanner into many plans but it did not really make a difference for me. Malaysia boleh!!

National Pride?

Typical jaguh kampung mentality. Last minute announcement screwed up most corporates closing esp it's the last working day of the year. Stupidity is the best word to describe. Boleh-land...

@Medie:
Semua kelam-kabut! Operations don't happen on public holidays? Emergency macam mana?

@Vince:
It's The Pavilion!

@SkyH:
I think people who had year end closing worked anyway. But still... sure got disruption.
